What would we do without our local Scouts? The best local institution for young people! Fabulous leadership, strong community support. The leaders are caring and understanding and are excellent role models outside the family unit, which is what all young people need (imho). Scouts learn about all things survival, outdoors, safety, health, first aid, life skills, camping, being prepared, respect, values and kindness. They are encouraged to assume leadership roles and and learn how to become a good, fair leader. They are taught to assume responsibility and to care for self and others and the environment. Group members are supportive of each other (great compliment the our leaders) and leaders work extremely hard to make this a fun and good experience for young people. The camps our scout groups run are simply amazing. Leaders are incredibly knowledgeable and well prepared and full of great advice for young people. Leaders (all volunteers btw) give up stacks of their own time to do this for our young people. The amount of thought, preparation, planning, execution and hard work that goes into this is amazing - a work of passion! Thank-you to all our wonderful leaders and everyone involved with this great organisation.
