I have recently attended the Mental Health First Aid Course, delivered by Bridget Woodhead and I was particularly impressed with the course and method of delivery. The subject is not an easy one to deliver. Bridget managed to make it informative and fun whilst highlighting the importance of the topic. I had the pleasure of receiving mental health training from Bridget and I can tell you it was the most in lighting 2 days I have had for a very long time. Bridget is passionate about what she teaches bringing light and laughter to some dark parts of this intense training. I learned so much about myself and the fact that all of us have at some point had issue we have or had to deal with. At the start of the session Bridget was able to get everyone to open up and speak out about their issue. By the end of the session I looked at everyone in that room in a different light to what I had when I first met them on day one. Learning that listening as well as opening up to people is a very powerful thing and when you open up others they will open up to you an if you listen you can see peoples soles. Metal health should not be put in a closet it is an illness the same as a broken arm, or diarrhoea and sickness but we are happy to except these illness and hide metal health away. Take this course and learn what you are missing and learn to help someone.
