My group and I were Argentinians and went to dukeshouse for a study trip back in 2019. We spent twoweeks. Our cabins were clean and the food was alright.
I really appreciate the stuff, they were patient with our needs even with the ones who could barely speak english.
Shoutout to Alice and our english teacher!! They were the best part of the experience!

After returning from her NCS experience, my daughter was pleasantly surprised by the NCS team and had an amazing week - all the activities were spectacular and she made tonnes of new friends. However, the activity centre itself was very disappointing…. Although dinners were tasty, she was greeted with clumpy milk and out of date sandwiches. Vile. Furthermore, the dorms were just horrific. Upon entering the room, the girls were introduced to a seventy year old carpet full of decades of grime. A filthy sock was found under the mattress plus the shower was mould ridden. In addition, the toilet seat wobbled every time the girls used it due to a broken latch and the lid was nonexistent?. The small bin was far from ideal considering the dorm was used by ten girls… Only two windows could be found in the room causing one of the girls to get heatstroke on the first night and fall ill. Moths and spiders also interrupted the girls’ sleep by giving them a fright. Lovely staff though, won’t be sending my child there again.

We recently attended with a large group of Cub Scouts. We were nervous as we had never use this site previously and some of the reviews were worrying.
I can confirm, that its one of the best residentials we have had, and we have used many venues over many years. So it seems that reported issues may have been few and far between or have been left by ignorant people who think its funny to leave a false bad review. We used 2 separate accommodation blocks and we had no hygiene issues of concern.
The office staff were great and activity staff were exceptional. The kitchen staff went well out of their way to ensure everyone was happily fed.
The activities were varied and well thought out and well run.
I have no hesitation in recommending Dukeshouse Wood. We will return.

My school came here for 2 nights and it was decent. Mold above shower and room flooded. Food is good apart from chips. Alpha is the goat and is now my godfather. Didn’t meet the scratcher and play monopoly with him but instead a midnightly game of chess in the bathroom. Mattresses are stained as-well as bedsheets. Friend was gonna sleep on the floor. Activities are good fun

Horrible, the food was disgusting and was undercooked everyday. the rooms were growing mold on the walls in the bathroom, and the floor had scratches on it under the bed, Me and my friend woke up with scratches all over us after waking up, and there was always noise coming from outside our dorms. Horrible

Went here for NCS for 5 days with my school. The activities were fun and the staff was kind. ( Will was my favourite ). But, the dorms had mould and stains on the roof, with the sheets having stains on it. Anyway that's all, and you should bring boots.

I CANT DESCRIBE THIS! Me and my class went to kings wood dukehouse as a trip, every night we would be tormented by the scratcher and at one point I got locked in the bathroom (which had atleast 50 gallons of mould in it) and began suffocating. On the second night I got locked in with my two friends one being a midget and one being a slenderman, all night the scratcher scratched our ears and necks it was absolutely ludicrous! And one activity almost killed my classmate, it was a popular one called the zip wire. I was chatting to others about the experience when all of the sudden I saw one of my peers floating in the air with a harness on. We were all told to pull the rope as he hung there for atleast 10 minutes. After being stuck 20 feet in the air, he got pushed! He also got stuck and an instructor had to unclip him as he levitated , hanging on the wire. Another thing is the unsanitary and poor hospitality! I simply turned to look at the food options and when I looked back, a worker was in my ear, sniffing the previous wound. I got given my food, when I had tried it, I been sick all over my friends, they started to cry as I sprinted into the place we were staying. I saw the boy who levitated and the scratcher having a awesome face off. They scratched each other’s underwear until the scratcher could no longer stand. Don’t come here. BE FREE RUN AWAY DONT LOOK BACK AND DONT STEP FOOT IN THERE.
