I wish I had a more positive review for the college but I'm afraid the last 12 months has been absolute turmoil for my daughter, she was on sports coaching because her results in one subject fell short, by putting her on this course it has taken her far from the subject she wanted, but was going to try and make the most of it, however over the last 12 months she has had more classes cancelled than she has been in due to using the lecturers for other activities like matches and for refereeing, so the support she needed in the subject she was trying to pass has gone right under the radar, to add she has discalculia and dyslexia and the extra support which was offered before she started has not been evident whatsoever, so unfortunately we now have to look for another college for her, if you don't have the staff available, don't make students have to take long bus journeys to get there for no purpose, as having a lesson in the morning then the rest of the day cancelled leaves students stranded for hours, so if your child needs extra support with certain subjects, Reaseheath may not be suitable, I believe their focus is more on your high achievers, which is a real shame for such a well known college.

An absolutely fantastic college when I graduated almost 20 years ago. I did have an incident there one year ago. I happened to be in the area and thought I would spend an hour strolling around the campus. Back in my day, the public had access to the college grounds and were encouraged to visit. There was a garden centre, golf course, cafe and cafeteria that welcomed them.

I was walking along when a staff member stopped me and asked what I was doing there. I explained my situation and she replied that student safety does not permit that kind of thing anymore. She was polite enough to me and said I could stay and have a walk around as long as I’m quick about it, but the moment was completely ruined so I left immediately.

I have no wish or intention at all to trespass on private property or be a threat to anyone and this embarrassing fiasco could have easily been avoided if the college put up a ‘no members of the public beyond this point’ sign at all entrances.

This college is brilliant for studying at and my child child has achieved alot but trying to get a simple answer is so difficult no one knows what others are doing for about 2 months I've been ringing and ringing to never get a straight answer and on enrolment night was unorganised my worse fears were given and was told timetables are not finished someone will ring you tomorrow and am still waiting I understand my child is one of many students but we need to know Education 10/10 communication 0

Dealing with mental health, physical disabilities in this place hellish just trying be heard and staff thinking they know better about my own health, where at times has put my physical and mental well-being on the line repeatedly while there. I was told my health only seems to affect me on work experience days when it suits me basically of a staff members opinion thats rude as you haven't sat in classes and you hardly knew me. Hannah S, Kirsty. Then i get pulled in a meeting after doing work experience in zoo wondering why it was dangerous to leave me with a knife to cut up animal food in zoo kitchen with knowing i had vision loss and loss of awareness of surroundings in symptoms.

Constant fitness to study meetings. And she admitted yeah if you were having seizures I probably would of tried get rid of you yeah but your not this comes from a ca manager Kirsty again.
My college place was constantly hung over my head as a threat you do this or you can't stay repeatedly". I've had to keep asking staff to tell others to back off from using my disabilities as a excuse to harass me about things related to health mental and physical because I was not being listened to despite using my voice to express how I felt about the comments how I looked etc "you look ill you sure you should be here Kirsty W laughs the decisions I made to help deal with my health were disregarded I had to do it there corrupt ways.
I was told the purpose of kicking me out was to obtain a diagnosis which I've got an informed them before being told that and to give me time to get better". What?
People with chronic illness don't get better it's a long term condition?.
Felt little hope in this place a lot of times the ignorance of people and lack of understanding and very alone from how I've been treated with specific staff here and the others just watch.
Also had moments of happiness joy and laughter with some lecturers who I took to some are the reason why you keep pushing to that one person who you can have a laugh with when things are just a bit bleak.

Overall people with mental and physical health heres advice use your voice be relentless when not being listened to and being pushed into things further putting you at risk emotionally or physically if you are here. But use your voice selectively advocating for yourself takes work and energy especially with these people and processes in place.
Don't hesitate to leave if and when needed to head towards better things.To a different space and w people who don't use pride values as a marketing gimmick. A gimmick because there own staff members who don't even spend any time in class with you ever
point out how "badly your performing academic wise because of your physical disability" in cases you know for the fact your doing well it's just a indicator they no longer want you there. My performance was pointed to in a fitness to study meeting about my biology grade being low "apparently due to my physical disability"? And it was because its always been a weaker subject for me because that test was taken at a time with no symptoms presenting at all?‍♀️. No staff commented on my performance work not getting done by end of theory lessons just that symptoms were active in alot of classes which is fair.But yet my work was the issue odd.I found it interesting that somehow no matter how determined, resilent I was how much of my work did get done to a decent standard the problem was always me in their eyes and always something related to disability.
They admitted they didn't want me there due to a disability a Yr prior. a company advertises diversity, inclusion,disability confident doesn't mean nought if actions say otherwise.
I was stopped using college coach because they were worried about potential symptoms going on that's what I needed to rely on college coach to get home at that time in my life then they complain about attendance.
I had a staff member put as a fitness to study action putting me on a corridor on a chair in seizures?

My autistic daughter attended here for just over a year (roughly 6 years ago). She wasn't offered any consistent additional teaching support and despite a tough year (where she made zero friends), she decided she wanted to complete her second year. Within a month of starting her 2nd year, they basically forced her out after telling me she was suicidal. To treat anyone this way is unacceptable but to treat a disabled young person like this is horrendous. I didn't take any further action at the time due to my daughter not wanting to make a fuss. My daughter is 24 this year and to my knowledge, has never been suicidal or depressed.

i do not recommend this college at all. i studied the animal management course here for around five months and i cannot describe the regret i have for deciding to come here.
i joined reaseheath to study the animal management course at level 1, whilst also studying gcse maths and english alongside as i wanted to resit both subjects.
i will first talk about all the issues i had whilst studying the animal management course.
every wednesday we would do practical lessons, where we would physically get involved with the animals at reaseheath. when i first joined i had expectations of what i would be doing in the practical lessons such as hand feeding the animals and being able to work with a wide range of different species. unfortunately, the practical lessons felt more of a chore than an actual lesson. during every practical lesson we would just be left to clean up the animals enclosures, which was not enjoyable at all. most practical lessons we were stuck in the rodent room, which was a building with very little space, which made it extremely stressful with around 20 students working inside.
we were constantly forced to work with the same animals every lesson. rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, and the hamsters. for the first few months i was constantly asked to clean out the rabbits by poo picking and dusting the enclosures. other lessons i was swapped rooms to where the hamsters were, and i would have to clean out the cages. most of the time i felt extremely stressful as the teachers instructions were not clear enough most of the time, and i was constantly asking them for help which made them get frustrated with me. it felt like we were just being given chores to do rather than being taught anything. we only visited the zoo about twice, where we worked with donkeys, wallabies, and guinea fowl. again, we were just poo picking the enclosures.
we were asked to get changed for practical in the public bathrooms in the chaffinch building, and we had to leave our bags in there. practical lessons took place all day, and since the changing rooms were the PUBLIC bathrooms, students were constantly going through our bags, and someone in my class had money stolen, and my bag was left with the zips wide open. how could there not be another room to keep our bags secure in?
the staff here overall do not seem kind and act unprofessional and treat us more like they’re our classmates rather than actual teachers, because of this it was difficult for me to discuss any of my issues with any of the staff.
it was very difficult for me to make friends here because i felt uncomfortable around a lot of the students here from the type of conversations they would have and the way that people would speak to each other. lastly i would like to talk about the issues i had in the classrooms whilst studying gcse maths and english.
students were constantly fighting in the building i studied maths and english in and making unnecessary comments and starting arguments with anyone that they could get their hands on. in my maths lessons students were constantly on their phones texting and playing loud music, and would argue with the teacher constantly which would disrupt the classes learning. lastly is english, which is where it gets worse. there was a group of students in my class which generally made me very anxious before attending my english lessons. for the first couple of weeks they would just constantly have conversations over the teacher and do unnecessary things like throw pens at random people. one lesson we had a different teacher and she was a lot stricter than the other teacher and she ended up sending out one of the students from the group, and he got very angry and said he was going to sm@sh her head in which was quite shocking, and he smashed the door into the wall which broke a piece from the door. i went home after this lesson as i just couldn’t bear with staying in any longer. unfortunately, the students were still allowed into the lesson which disgusted me.
these are all the reasons why i will not be returning to this college.

I am a first year student at Reaseheath and I’m studying Equine Bio Veterinary Science. My experience here has been so surreal! They have the most supportive team of staff to help with accommodation and settling into Uni life. Living on campus is very safe and leaves you feeling very secure.

As for the course itself, I’m loving every second of it! We go on loads of trips and learn new things every day. Reaseheath really is a great place!
