My 8 yr old son has been going to open water swimming sessions throughout this summer with Pete Wilby and has absolutely loved it. His confidence in sea swimming has increased so much and he has found it so fun. All of Pete Wilby’s team of swimming instructors are so kind and encouraging. Today he did the Junior adventure swim and had the best day ever! He had so much fun jumping off the rocks into the sea and was incredibly proud of himself to swim a kilometre back to the start. It’s a day he will never forget! Thank you so much.

So so lucky to have found Pete Wilby Triathlon.
Just 3 years ago I met Pete at the pool and asked for 3 x 121’s swim sessions, hoping to improve my ‘not so good stroke’.
Who would have thought, that after those first sessions ...that I enjoyed so much, I then booked regular 121,s to strive even harder learning different techniques.
Pete subtly motivated me to start Sea swimming and ultimately I entered my first Open Water Competition Swim .
Awesome!!
With all his guidance and excellent coaching ...3 years later, I have enjoyed many Triathlon group sessions on swimming , cycling and running.....and proudly can say I have completed 3 Triathlons and other sporting events, plus enjoyed many long distance coastal swims and long distance swim events, including the River Dart 10K ...and this month too, swimming the English Channel in a relay team.
I have found through Pete, that I love endurance swimming which gives me so much joy.

What an amazing coach !!
An elite athlete himself.
Such passion for his sport.
Always spurring you on and making sport fun and adapting his growing business to suit his clientele.

He is an inspiration, a great coach that tailors to your needs and embraces and enjoys working with all levels and ages, knowing he will succeed in helping them gain much confidence and stamina to become great athletes.

At 68 I am stronger than I have ever been athletically before.... and that is all due to excellent advice and coaching.

Pete could not be based in a better area here in Devon in Teignmouth, with such a beautiful coastline and amazing countryside and facilities to swim cycle and run.
Having his on line service too for Individual training is wonderful too.

Meeting and being coached by Pete has been life changing.

Thank you so much!

Fantastic coach. I’ve seen real improvements across all areas since Pete started coaching me. I really enjoy his ability to consider all factors of life within a training programme. My life is busy but Pete finds a way of making me better at Triathlon without burning me out. A real talent.

Pete is an outstanding 1:1 sea swimming teacher for my son. He’s made loads of progress in the sea, overcome his fears and thoroughly enjoys his weekly lessons. Pete is particularly brilliant at dealing with autism and treating all children as equals. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough!

Pete is an awesome coach, from barely being able to swim 25m, 8 sessions later I could swim 130 25m lengths!
Pete helps you feel calm & able to achieve your goals, through his 1:1 sessions helping you perfect your stroke & explaining things in a way that's easy to understand enabling you to improve.
Pete helped me prepare for the 10K River Dart Swim in September 2016 with his Open Water Swimming sessions giving me the confidence I needed to complete it. Then in August 2017 Pete wrote an individual Training Plan for me through Training Peaks that enabled me to Swim Lake Windermere, 10.5 miles, with Pete on the Escort Boat giving me encouragement during the whole swim. I'm currently preparing to Swim The English Channel as a Relay with 'Team H2 Oh!' August 2018!
I've also completed several Triathlons, attending various Training Sessions that are Triathlon focused that Pete runs.
Whether it's 1:1 or group sessions Pete caters for all abilities, ages & training goals. Top Coach! Top results!!

I've been training with Pete's Saturday advanced open water swimming group for a while now, also had one to one with video breakdown of my swims( pool) changing a few things around on his recommendation, I've been drilling some sets in the pool.
Overall it's well worth contacting him for advice, classes and one to ones.
Highly recommended 👍👍👍
I've gone from a good swimmer to now getting placed in some quite big events, Roadford and the Great nort swim

Pete is a level 3 qualified and talented coach for juniors and adults- triathletes, swimmers and those that want to keep fit. He helps them achieve their full potential. He listens to Training Plan athletes and adapts sessions accordingly. He encourages beginners to try something new and pushes experienced athletes as they would hope to be pushed. I know I am bias, but Pete genuinely believes in everyone and gives people the confidence we don't always have to begin with. His sessions are meticulously planned, safe and fun. So nice to read so many reviews. All true and he deserves more than 5 stars in my opinion!!

Such a supportive and amazing coach for my first Ironman Triathlon at 54.

I came to Pete with very little experience in triathlons, wanting to complete an Ironman. When he started coaching me my fitness was at an all time low as I had just recovered from an operation. As an over 50 athlete trying to avoid injury is a high priority.

Over the three years I’ve had lots of ups and downs but Pete keeps adapting and tailoring the training plan, so it fits my life and whatever’s going on. He’s been so supportive, encouraging and confidence building.

I’m forever grateful. Hopefully, I’m proof that almost anyone can do an Ironman with the right support and training.
