It’s been an exciting, challenging and somewhat frightening year. I developed not just skills for teaching but valuable skills for personal development, to use in my future career and life. BEC Teacher Training has been so supportive and the training has been second to none.

BEC are a very good ITT training provider and will leave you feeling prepared for a career in teaching although it is very hard work. My only negative comment is that they are heavier on the paperwork than some other training providers whose trainees I have spoken to and this could do with scaling back a little/being made more efficient.

Previous BEC trainees have said that they had excellent all round support. Training is thoroughly delivered in all aspects of teaching with GPS sessions being relevant and engaging and guest speakers delivered excellent session too. Very satisfied with level of support from course director, mentors and administrative staff. Highly knowledgable subject mentors and lead support mentors within schools. A very structured and disciplined course. Trainees felt completely supported throughout the course and although it's tough would highly recommend BEC.

Teacher training year can be incredibly demanding and tough, thanks to BEC I look back on this time as a thoroughly enjoyable part of my teaching career. BEC gave me an incredibly deep understanding of the pedagogy and skills required to be a successful teacher. Through BEC, I received extensive support and guidance, on all areas of training, to ensure I loved, and still love, teaching 5 years on!

During my training year I felt completely supported by BEC. The course had a perfect balance between theory and being in the classroom which fully prepares you for your NQT year. The course was organised amazingly and covered all areas of teaching as well as well-being. Even once you have completed training the BEC team are still there for help and support.

I found BEC to be an excellent training course and provider who helped prepare me for the world of teaching. The support I received from all the mentors was impressive and I would urge anyone considering teacher training to apply to BEC.

Having been involved as a school based Professional Mentor for the Billericay SCITT Secondary Course from its inception , I can say with authority that the course is extremely well run and the trainees get a tremendous amount of support from the staff at all levels. Trainees are placed in a variety of schools and learn their craft from well qualified professionals who are practising teachers. This practical experience is complemented by well planned general and subject specific professional studies on a weekly basis. Many of our teaching staff have come to us via the SCITT route and we have benefited greatly from our involvement with Billericay SCITT. Not only in terms of effective recruitment, but also in terms of CPD and development for our own staff. Several of our ex- students have qualified with Billericay SCITT and have enjoyed the course and recommended it to others. I would recommend the course to both potential teacher trainees and also to schools who may be thinking of joining the partnership in the future.
