Argyle on tour! Another long haul to "sunny" Crewe. You can see the huge stand in the stadium from the train station....and it's probably their only redeeming feature....but totally out of keeping with the rest of the stadium. Hardly a fan in sight in any of the pubs closest to the ground...all quite bizarre. Friendly, one food outlet, with huge queues they are destined for Div 2 unless a miracle happens. Its a shame, they are an iconic club going through hard times selling their best players to survive....and we added to their misery with a 4 - 1 win.....Good luck Alex

This is the Cumberland Sports Ground that Crewe FC just happened to be playing at.
It consists of 2 full size pitches, one grass and one all- weather plus an athletics track surrounding the grass pitch.
The really striking thing about the place was the lack of spectator amenities.
After watching the kids games at Sandbach all last season which has amazing amenities, the Cumberland is very poor, restricted to a cash only soft drinks machine.

The pitches looked in good condition and well looked after, but there is only two.

If this is Crewe's main sports centre, it is poor in comparison to smaller surrounding towns and needs an upgrade to get some more money coming in.

My grandson now plays for them so have to give it 5 stars.
Would be interesting to know how their application for a new home on King George Playing Fields is progressing?

They dropped my son's team with hardly any explanation, after money was spent on subs and training kits etc. They didn't give any thought to how a group of 8 year olds would feel. Glad my son has found another team, one that supports and encourages children, rather than just let them down.

Crewe Football Club who play in the Cheshire Football League are based and play their home games at the Cumberland Arena. A good standard of amateur football is played here by the first team and are well worth a watch on a Saturday for very little cost.
