Be very careful when parking at this location I parked on the meadows side and paid £3.90 for my parking which I do every time I visit however it appears you park with pay by phone app on one side of the wall and by RingGo app on the meadows side. Even though I paid for parking I have now received a bill for £100. I appealed against this however they have declined my appeal and told me I must pay £60 immediately or I will be subject to the £100 fine. Well done Derbyshire Council that’s the last time I will visit this location and now I have shared this with my family and friends that’s the last time they will visit. What a rip off.

A lovely walk with a little shop to buy snacks and duck food, toilet facilities, cash or PayByPhone app to pay for parking.

This car park has an ice cream vanilla, toilets and other as little as 80p an hour (at the time of writing).

If you are looking for a walk there is a great walk along the canal with a little cafe for refreshments at the car park, or just a gentle stroll down the canal to the High peak junction where you can enjoy the canal views.

Fancy something a little more strenuous then take a walk up the hill past the old carts and walk up the historic path to Blackrock. There is another local cafe here that provide refreshments and this is about half way up the old railway line. If you really want to push then continue on the line and pass the railway where you can experience for yourself a little railway line for a donation. Continue up to the top pumping station where you can hire bikes or site and have a coffee before heading back down. In total this would be a 7 mile return walk from the car park to the top.

Nice big open car park, reasonably priced parking and close to the canal. From here you can do a circular walk approximately 3.5 miles or 1 mile to the High Peaks Station and 1 mile back.

Pay and Display car park adjacent to the canal. Toilets available in car park, grassy area with picnic tables next to the canal and cafe. Lovely area to picnic and admire the views or walk along the canal footpath. You can do a great circular walk along the canal, up to Black Rock then back down through Cromford. There are now regular boat trips on the canal. Cromford Mills and craft shops are just across the road.

Very conveniently located car park for walks along Cromford Canal, visiting the nearby mill & shops, as well as Cromford village itself (only a few minutes walk away and much easier than trying to park in the small market place car park). The Birdswood canal trips start from here, and there are sometimes craft fairs too. There are also toilet facilities including disabled access. Parking charges aren’t too bad, but you can’t use long-stay tickets bought at other Derbyshire Dales car parks here.

Good-sized, well-priced car park with very clean public toilets. Excellent spot to park to walk along the canal, visit the Cromford Mills site across the road and only a few minutes walk from Cromford village
