They are no good! They do not offer evening classes for adults whom are already in the workplace and just need to do refresher courses! No wonder British skills are lacking. You can't even call them a college as they are not interested in offering a range of courses unless you are a teenager!

I went to look around with my secondary school and overall it was better then I expected (Because I was weary due to my brother used to be there and had problems) and a friend of mine liked the animals and said 'i want to do animal care' and he was struggling to figure out what he want to do but now I'm so happy, thanks Broomfield!

If you are thinking about joining the steps course in this college, I advise you do not go. It was a traumatic experience, and i’ve never experienced such horrible treatment from staff.

I joined the course last year, and my teacher was Emily Parson. (I’m not sure if i’m spelling her last name correctly.)

She is one of the worst teachers to ever exist, she does not teach a single thing and only made me and my class mates to do kahoots. We all spoke to her about her teaching methods but she took it as a insult, and would act like a victim instead of an adult taking responsibility to help us with our futures ahead of us.

She seemed like she had a inappropriate relationship with one of our student. But as well as that, she was very public about her opinion as well as her life choices. When someone spoke up about being a meat eater, she get very upset that we are not vegan like her.

We had a youth worker named Sammie, she was very rude, and neglecting. She always accused me of speaking back to her when I was answering her questions, she claimed I was cussing at her when I wasn’t. Generally horrible and loud.

Tanya, she was a teachers assistant. She was misunderstanding her and there, but something I don’t get why was she helping Emily teach students maths when, she herself admitted she can’t do math.

Kaylee, (again unsure if I’m spelling her name right.) she wasn’t a teacher but worked in a managing the steps course. She’s so horrible, she acts like she understands people but she’s doesn’t. i’ve told her, how I was manipulated by a class mate and said it was my fault. That is not what you tell a student especially when they are telling you about a serious matter.

Jane is a horror story itself, she’s like a Chucky. She’s thankfully not a teacher, but in the managing team what I don’t know if that’s worse. If you ever come across this lady, run and don’t look back!

The head of steps, i’m unsure about her name but she is Irish what is a red flag itself. (no offence.) She’s like Jane but somehow worse, a nightmare of a woman truly. She’s rude, cruel, misunderstanding, mean and bop. Just like Jane if you see her just run.

Told these people about the racism, i’ve experienced by other students, and they excused the students behaviour for them growing up with people who use those words. That is pure racism coming from them, as i had more situations happening to me and they excused it all.

They talk about have your own opinion, and to speak your mind but as soon as you do you get in trouble.

Food was horrible, the toilets were always dirty and the school itself just smelled. This college needs new staff or just needs to completely shut down.

This is a place for torture not learning, if you want to be completely dehumanised this is a college for you.

You have been warned. If I could give them a negative 1000 stars, I would.

Thank you for reading and for your time.

My son joined here in September and a majority of the time seems to enjoy it but some teacher's simply can't be bothered to help when it is needed. How does this college expect student's to excel if some of the teacher's cannot be arsed to do their job.

They aim to create young professionals but treat students like they were born yesterday. Adults with authority run wild throwing out disciplinary action with little to no warning, giving students no chance to own their actions and do the decent human thing of trying to make ammends. This raises a resentful cohort and it is easily seen in conversations among students who feel stuck in a place that doesn't respect them and doesn't believe in their ability to be respectful and mature people.

At first I enjoyed the college, the staff were nice enough and there was plenty of support and I would have recommended Derby to anyone.
Now not so much... the communication is quite frankly very poor and I have finished my course two weeks after everyone else because of my tutors poor communication and support. My tutor never replied to any messages and would just read my message and not bother about it.
I have been messed around so much at college. I'm definitely not coming back next year now.

The staff from DCG are always very helpful and most courteous. Making every visit a pleasure. Today I attended an event where the minister of transport was visiting the city in connection to the city's bid to be home of British rail. The people in the picture are all from Alstom and other associated companies. I have visited the site on numerous occasions and always found it to be very clean. The entrance are disable friendly and toilets located right by the doors. Highly recommend this location for any function.
