Nice church for a choir and band concert. Warmer than some. Plenty of parking in the town. Great wetherspoons across the road.

A baptism, led by the priest in charge, ran very well and achieved its aims exceptionally. I was disappointed to hear that the P-I-C will not be made vicar so she is "self-supporting and non-stipendiary" although she does reside in the vicarage. It is all down to a lack of finances in the Diocese. We need people like this and we have to encourage more of them, but not on a non-stipendiary basis. This is a huge parish (close to 20k population) with no related chapels these days and should be fully supported to encourage more parishioners and clergy to be involved.
