I joined the club after almost a 40-year break from Kyokushin and took my teenage daughter and her school friend along with me. 8 months later we’re really enjoying it. Training is quite tough given this is a full-contact style of karate, and there’s a lot of emphasis on fighting techniques (kumite) but the instructors really care about the development of the students. It’s been great for my daughter’s self-confidence and great also for physical and mental stamina. There’s a good spirit at the club, you’re pushed hard but always in a constructive way.

There’s Karate, then there’s Kyokushin Karate! I’ve started my martial arts journey with NLK and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made. The sessions can be tough, but I wouldn’t expect anything less as this is Kyokushin. That said, the dojo is respectable and you’re encouraged to be your best and work to your own limits. “A black belt is a white belt that never quit” Osu!

I have been training here for the past 12 years and I have never been disappointed with the quality on training. The coaches are very communicative and supportive and they encourage individual growth, which allows everyone to see improvements regardless of age or past training experiences. They also try to bring out the very best in you and there have been many occasions where we formed a team and travelled nationally and internationally for competitions, championships and seminars. I would encourage everyone who is looking to join a karate club to join this one. You will certainly be presented by expertise, a welcoming atmosphere and a good workout!!

This is not a club for those who wish to show up every now and again, pay a grading fee and flash their new belts!
This is a real Kyokushin dojo where one would only achieve through hard work and sweat. Passionate instructors, friendly and welcoming students and a great atmosphere to learn new skills and progress.
