I am not a church goer, but I have visited St Andrew's quite often, when there are fetes, etc. It is a lovely church with an ageing congregation, all of whom struggle to raise the funds to maintain this vital community hub. Please help if you can.

St Andrews is a fascinating church with a long history but it's at risk. There are signs of much needed repair from warnings of falling masonry to whole side area hidden by hoardings because unsafe to access. It has features from all eras of its thousand year history including a side chapel where knights in armour appear to be resting - the Latin is translated to indicate links to Queen Mary and 'some disorder' at the start of her reign. It has clearly been a place beloved in the past and today shows signs of life in present connections and is clearly still in use but at risk. I hear they are seeking funding to save the building from partial collapse and to make it more accessible to all. Will be interested to see how it's doing in a year whether falls like so many to redundancy or becomes a community hub and a vibrant place of worship if they can access the funding and people they need for it to thrive. It would be a terrible loss should it be left to collapse.
