We have come to Slapton with our A Level students for the last 6 years and are always impressed with the quality of teaching. This year was one of our best yet, and we were so pleased with what the students gained from experience - the tutors were excellent (thank you Grace and Luke!) and so knowledgeable. The facilities are good, the food has improved since our last visit and it’s great to learn about the food miles of your meals; the whole experience encourages the students to think about their environmental impact. Accommodation was well suited for purpose, and on our final night we were given equipment to be able to take the students down to the beach and build a campfire as the sun went down. All staff were so accommodating and met our needs as required. Highly recommend!

We had a great A level field study stay with the top team at Slapton Ley. The food was great and served with a smile, catering for all needs and the facilities were ideal for our needs. A great place with lots of space and top people working for them. Highly recommended.

Interpretive I.

I can't speak highly enough of the excellent natural history course I took at Slapton Ley. The staff were wonderful, instruction was exceptional and I learned so much. I highly recommend the Field Studies Council if you'd like to learn more about our wonderful natural history -- they are so knowledgeable and I felt that the course I took was also excellent value for money. I shall definitely take another one soon. Thank you FSC!

Had a really fun time, the accommodation was lovely and the food was great. Staff were welcoming and so helpful for writing my NEA. We collected plenty of data due to the help and were aided in ways to present this data that I couldn’t have done myself. Overall, had a fantastic time, thank you to Becky for leading our group 🙂

Absolutely cracking stay this January with our 30 Yr 12 students. The food was fabulous throughout and the chef went above and beyond baking a lovely birthday cake for one of our students. Our tutors Chris and Bethan were both fabulous. Great knowledge and patience. Can't wait to return next year!

Had a great time. Location is beautiful. Beach is close. Rooms were clean and bathrooms too. Food was alright better than expected, the negative reviews need to get a grip. Jon was great and helpful.

I’m an A-Level Geography student who did a field trip in this centre currently. When I was reading the review I was quite shocked. However, I would like to express my views that I enjoyed my visit in here.

Our tutor is very nice and friendly, which helps us to get all the data and nice explanations for us which I’ve learned a lot from the trip.

The catering in here is really good too! The breakfast were usually hot British breakfast which is very delicious, whereas the dinner were nice too, especially the fish and chips! There were lots of different varieties of food in here which we could make our own pack lunch, people were able to eat some good food with nutrition during field work! Moreover, catering staff are very helpful and nice 😃

One thing that has to improve is that the shower is a bit out to date which might need some improvement, but overall my experience here was nice!
