Played a gig at The Sailing Club in the Old Customs House. Lovely venue, lovely audience. Arnside itself very pretty area. Estuary beautiful but care needed when walking on sand, especially with animals...lots of quicksand and fast, dangerous tides.

Such a charismatic place. You have to look out for this modest fronted quirky entrance. Then up some old stairs, which open up into a large room that is perfect for the varied music evenings they host. When they have acts on it's a £5 entrance fee. Once you're in you have the most reasonable bar in Arnside.
It's all run by sailing club volunteers, who are always ready with a kind word and a warm chat.
It has a real old England charm. It's not swanky at all, and that's why I love it. It's not yuppified, it's not pretending to be something it's not. Its basic, warm and wonderful with truly amazing music nights.
