Ended up here for about 4 and a half years. Couldn't fill my needs as a person with Autism. In my third year I had a total of 12 time table changes open the span of 5 weeks and if honestly made my mental health take a nose dive as I don't adapt to change well. Wouldn't recommend coming here if your child or yourself has special educational needs.

Walked into this college expecting it to be better than high school, walked out with a skin condition. The beauty industry is appauling how they treat there students. Nobody put on their health & safety records I had a severe allergic reaction to a pupil who didn’t wash their hands before giving me a treatment, she obviously had something with peanuts she ate before she worked a hand treatment on me. Now to this day I have dermatitis forever and I’ve had constant visits to the doctors for stronger cream to try prevent it even though it won’t ever fully recover. At the end of the year they had a spread of food out with a bowl of peanuts.(baring in mind my allergy is severe and they knew that) Teachers don’t take you seriously there aswell as the bullying. If you’re wanting to go to a good college, here is not the place, especially if you suffer from mental health.I had to be moved into a different class because the bullying was horrendous. Also took multiple maths tests for them to not even give me my results. At the end of the year they also rang me asking to come back and retake my maths because I apparently failed which nobody told me beforehand, only for them to basically get a good reputation if I pass. I never went back, now I’m in a different college and thriving towards better things.

Ok, if your child has special needs like autism, ADHD etc put them in the independent living support part but once they finish that part please don't put them in it any further if you feel your child still needs the extra support, they don't get it, me, my son's connection worker and the people who deal with health education plan are serious struggling to get the people at college to work with us, saying he doesn't need help when his ex teachers there has status he DOES need extra help, ducking and diving emails and phone calls.
I thought very highly of this college at the beginning but now not as much. Now the teachers are brilliant but the people who are supposed to help you get extra help not so much. The way it stands atm my son has another 5 months to go till he finished his cause and he won't be going back unless something changes.

The college's customer service/reception team is a complete mess! a group of people who enjoy doing anything other than helping students which is required from them. They pass you from pillow to post in order to avoid doing their work and are extremely rude everyone. Other students and my child don't even know where or when they’re meant to be at the college because there is no communication from them, which they will tell you is your fault even after you try call them all day everyday with no answer. I'm outraged at the rudeness of the workers.

Awful college. All they care about are ticking boxes not the actual welfare of their student. My son is having a torrid time there and they refuse to let him leave (threatening me with fines and social services unless I force him to attend - no doubt to make their drop out statistics look better). My son has other options he wants to explore like the Prince’s Trust but no, Tyne Met insist he’s has to attend their pointless course which he has no interest in. Disgraceful behaviour from a supposed place of education.

Just had a shocking experience at this college.

After enquiring about and applying for a Sports Massage Level 3 course I was emailed details about attending a "taster session".

On arrival at the college and getting to the room where this session was alleged to take place 4 people including myself waited in a room with no information or assistance from any staff.

Finally once the lecturer/instructor arrived myself and one other person were asked "oh have you not registered or been interviewed" and were taken to a separate room to be "interviewed" badly where I discovered that for the sum of £1000 the first 3 months of information were not taught but you completed workbooks at home and that depending on the level of Covid 19 restrictions in place at the time this would in effect dictate how the course would be delivered from that point!!!

Not impressed at all, disorganised, disinterested staff and total uncertainty. No empathy from " course leader".

I would not enquire about/apply for a course here ever again!!

Total shambles let children down.last minute telling them courses wouldn't be going ahead. Deplorable giving 3 weeks to find alternative college. Kids unruly saw 2 getting removed by security. The website is misleading stating they have 14-16 youth college -they don't.

Got bullied for 2 years and the staff did nothing to help me especially the deputy head, the counsellor and my teacher! Worst place and experience of my life. Filled with bullies and nasty staff! It's the worst college ever and should be shut down!!!!
