I checked in then out in less than half an hour. Tiny car park a short distance away that isn't linked anywhere on the website, only found by ringing hotel. The room had no electricity. Returning to reception and told to use switch by the bed not by the door, difficult to find in the pitch black. Still no power, back to reception and someone came up realising it was a fuse. Room was unbearably hot despite a window being wide open and radiator off. Thermostat didn't work, fan in wardrobe didn't work. Was told room 6 is above boiler for full hotel so it is hot, and some people like a hot room. It was stifling, and as it is February and 2 degrees outside i refuse to sleep with window wide open. They obviously know its a problem hence window wide open on a winter evening. They refused to move me to the unoccupied room so I left. Carpet badly stained, walls marked.

Just ate at the restaurant so can’t rate the rooms. Friendly helpful staff and great food. Location is ok..not much you can do about the rest of town centre unfortunately.

Stayed in Barrow in Furness for NYE and did a little pub crawl, came across Townhouse 211 on maps/en route and glad we came in, no booking, busy place but still greeted at the door, found a lovely cosy corner and their Long Island Iced Tea is spot on 👌 definitely recommend!

Cancelled my booking last minute, putting me in a tight spot, claimed it was because of a plumbing issue but we both know he was just trying to resell my room or give it to someone else. Don't waste your time or money booking a hotel here, probably cancel you at the eleventh hr.

The Townhouse catering team did the most amazing job for our graduation ball of 120 guests. Matt always keep in contact, accommodated to our every need, the serving staff were lovely and the food was exceptional. (Especially the baked Haddock.) All of the guests were impressed with the food, many commenting that this was the best food they have had at a ball. We really could not have asked for any more. I can not recommend them enough. Thank you so much!

My business partner and I went for dinner on Saturday. Great service by Emily. Perfect wine recommendations from Matt (2 bottles of Rioja!). Sirloin steak was perfectly cooked (next time no salt seasoning please). Cheese board for desert was amazing.

We stayed in the Ulverston suite and it was lovely. Clean and tasteful decor. Everything you need, hair drier, iron and ironing board, wine glasses. There is a couple of wooden games in the room noughts and crosses and dominoes which is a nice touch. Full size fridge. Shower is great and the spa bath was a welcomed treat. Bed was very comfortable, we would definitely stay here again.|Unfortunately, we probably wouldn’t dine again. We booked a table as we were treating family and although the food could not be faulted, every meal we ordered was beautiful, the service was not the best. One waitress made you feel as though you were an effort and the more cheery one asked if we wanted anything more but walked off before I had chance to answer. I didn’t find them attentive at all, it was a real shame. As mentioned though the food was delicious. |The only other comment I would add is (and puts me off eating here again) the chef goes out the back for a cigarette and his chef whites were disgusting….i have been a chef and yes you get food on them but these were grubby! Had I seen them before the meal I would have cancelled the table.

I ordered the Carbonara which I have to say is one of the best I've had in aaaages. possibly years even. A super nice blend of savoury flavours that came together to make a simple dish exquisite. Ten out of ten!

My girlfriend said her Townhouse Burger was good! She liked the chips as they were really tasty. The portions you get here are reasonable urging on the bigger side so you'll not leave hungry depending on what you get!

We've come now with our Cockapoo who's quite boisterous but they immediately gave him water and he settled down with friendly service for all three of us: my partner, I and the pooch.

We've not stayed in the rooms and can't say much for it but we've always enjoyed ourselves here, and have done so now with the lovely service we get here!

Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for quality food with a decent atmosphere and lovely decor.
