I really can't put in words what I experienced during the retreat, but it was very transforming. It's such a beautiful place with an amazing energy. The food was delicious, all the volunteers amazing. Accommodation nice and clean. Yes it is like staying in a hostel but you're not coming here for holidays only to work with your mind. I would highly recommend it.

I couldn't have asked for a better first Vipassana experience. I met some lovely people and felt very supported by the course teacher, manager and servers.
The food was delicious, the accommodation was clean and the schedule ran like clockwork. Thankfully, my room was warm though I heard some of the other rooms were very cold. Feedback was given and I think this will be dealt with.
I plan to come again here in the future to serve and sit.
Thank you for the best experience and for introducing me to a new way of living. I will be sure to share good words to my community so that they can also get benefit from this technique!

I'm so glad that I was able to serve in this center. Really nice place that require a bit of trust. You share your room with other servers and students share their room with other students. Students and servers also share bathrooms and showers. It was different experience compare to serving in Poland. In one of my meditations I saw that I need to go to UK and yes it was good decision. Let everyone be happy.

I have recently finished the 10 day course. My first at Dhamma Sukhakari, but I have attended several 10 day silent retreats in other traditions
This was a tough course. A lot is expected of you. But for me the rewards where worth it.
The facilities were clean and more than good enough. The serving team where really attentive.
I became ill towards the end of the course. I was quite firmly encouraged to still attend the 'main' meditation sessions, where instructions are given. I felt aggrieved at the time (just allot of self pity going on I think) but I'm so pleased the pressure was there and I'm confident it came from a strong place of compassion.
In short, its not an easy experience but it could be a very important one, that you might want to try

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step", except the Dhamma journey doesn’t ‘quite’ lead you to a definitive end - I guess that makes each step taken an end in itself.

Like each breath drawn and observed, each moment passing and observed, the exercise is to become more aware of the volition moment to moment. With urban life pushing for productivity, there’s always a tendency to optimise and auto-pilot tasks to assuage the brain efforts, result: less mindfulness, stressed and not so productive afterall. With the fast pace of modern life, there’s also the tendency to look for quick fixes. Worse still, we seek entertainment and intoxications to divert and numb the pains and aches, so they never get worked out.

Having dipped my feet in meditation apps few years back, I find that while they’re intellectually sound, in practice rarely made a difference except helping me to nod off quicker. Whereas this, balls to the wall - No distractions, total silence for 10 days, a sure high-way to... hell, though not without some pretty nibbanic moments. It surely could have been a lot tougher with Covid practices still in place, but the amazing team here has absolutely pulled it out of the bag, helping other meditators and I better fighting our own individual demons. Particularly the Kitchen Staff - super-charging us with the most delicious foods imaginable - This certainly pulled me out of my individual hell from time to time.

Thank you for the blissful course.

I’ve been at 4-day service period in October, helping to set up for the first meditation course here. Dedicated vipassana team, beautiful autumn nature decorations, organic apples and walnuts from the trees, lots of memories and insights about private purpose and collaborative work.
