Fantastic nursery that our little one loves so much. She has formed fantastic relationships with all the staff members and children and talks about all her friends when she’s at home. The activities they do are amazing, from planting in the garden to craft activities indoors. I love the updates throughout the day too. Thank you all!

My grandson goes to this nursery and he loves going through the door of a morning and talk non stop about the staff and his friends. He is always learning new activities and his speech amazes me. He is a confident young boy and I put that down to him going here. My daughter is over the moon with his development since going and we couldn’t recommend all the staff enough. Thank you to all at RDN

Not normally one for online reviews however I feel as a mother it is important for other parents to be able to make an informed decision based on other experiences.

I will start by saying that my review does not speak for every staff member in this nursery, as 99% of the girls working in the actual rooms are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble, and whilst my children were in the baby room we never experienced any issues with regards to the care they received. I must say I felt the senco who is also deputy manager was the most approachable management wise, she was always kind to us and showed genuine care towards our personal situation. Nothing was too much to ask and she would always respond to any questions as quickly as possible. But unfortunately it’s not just the standard of care that you need to consider when choosing a nursery, but also the management and owners. Unfortunately the professionalism of the owners of this nursery spoil it for those members of staff and in time if they continue to behave this way it will likely only lead to more complaints.

I am the mother of a disabled child, who is diagnosed with ASD and non verbal. Every pick up I asked how my child had been that day (as most parents probably do) to be told he had been great and had a brilliant day which was always positive to hear- or so I thought. We had been having 6 weekly meetings which is normal when you have a child with additional needs, and these meetings took place with other professionals involved in his care present. There were never any issues raised in these meetings to suggest the nursery was struggling to support my son.

Then out of the blue, just 2 days after one of these meetings, and 2 days after an educational psychologist had observed my child and spoken to staff within his room (who told her he was doing ‘well’) I’m told his placement will be frozen. No warnings, no sort of compromise offered or any alternatives. Just an on the spot decision. I took to a local SEN parents group to ask for advice without naming the setting, and the next thing was several of the nursery staff (some of which have no children let alone SEN children) started to join, I believe to have a nosey.

I was asked to go into a meeting with the owner regarding this post, who mentioned a member of staff had said they wanted to ‘drop a shift’ as they were finding it tough in the room with my child. I found it surprising, that a member of staff who is fully qualified would make such a hurtful comment. In my opinion, this is discrimination as I don’t believe you can pick and choose which children you work with in the nature of this role. I also felt that it was unprofessional of the owner to share this information with a parent when a staff member had obviously shared these feelings in confidence. The owner also chose to discuss with me some issues she had in the main reception area, rather than taking me into the office, upon drop off whilst other parents were going in and out to collect/drop their children off which I again felt was unprofessional on her behalf and a confidentiality issue.

There has been an occasion where my son has came home with a bite mark on his cheek, which I have evidence to support, which was not logged and staff had no explanation for as they did not see this incident take place. There have been a few other incidents where my son was bitten, and also grabbed by the neck of his t shirt by another child which left a mark on his neck.

Overall, I have to say the communication in the nursery has been extremely poor and requires improvement. If a child has been upset or unsettled I feel parents should be informed of this, and a bit of honesty wouldn’t go a miss. As a family, we feel let down as we genuinely thought that the girls in 1 particular room thought a lot of our child and we had nothing but good things to say about them prior to this so it really is a shame if this hasn’t been the case.
