Wonderful bookshop with absolute treasure of books variety. You can find a big collection of books about Carlisle history as well as Roman. Friendly and helpful staff who are not only book lovers but have information about books. Worth to pop in.

My absolute favourite secondhand bookshop! Picked up a delightful bag of books on my most recent visit. I love all the hidden rooms and nooks, you can easily spend hours in here. Luckily, Cake & Ale is a handy stroll next door through the back of the bookshop for a pause, rest and refill.

I've been here twice and it's a fantastic shop for book lovers. When ever I'm in the area I always need to visit this cozy bookshop.

The shop it's self has a wide selection of books across all varieties, new and old. The staff are kind and friendly.

The café is fantastic, I really loved the cakes that we had! It was a blueberry and lemon cake. I also got a flavoured latte which was very nice.

On our road trip we stumbled upon this one of a kind bookstore, and we fell in love with this wondrous place.

It feels like a never ending mace with wonderful new and used books everywhere you look. There are so many different themed rooms set up, with hidden treasures in the basement and even a book lover café hidden deep inside the heart of this store.

The owners set up a magical place, and we hope we will find our way back here one day.

What.A.Place - A must see for anyone interested in books, from new releases, to old children’s classics, Vinyls and maps, this place will have it all. A lovely space to spend a rainy afternoon in Carlisle after getting a coffee from their cafe. They even give you a map on the way in to navigate the 3 floors!!

My second visit and I looked around much more carefully this time. Has various rooms and both new books and secondhand books. Am trying to not buy books but ended up buying a few so must be a good bookshop!
