Amazing riding school with great instructors, friendly staff, and fantastic horses. This is the best stable I have been to in the UK. Would highly recommend! Shannon is such an amazing instructor and I’ve had such a great time riding there. Unfortunately moved abroad (home) now, but would definitely like to come by and visit in future.

Took my daughter to this riding school for her first lesson. Lesson booked for 12 but started at 12:30. 4 year old daughter was put on pony and tied to a fence for 20 minutes, luckily I was then able to stand next to her as I asked to do so as she was going to be left on her own like that. Girth was so loose that it didn’t even touch the pony’s belly- nobody even thought to check this and just put her on the pony and then left her.

A livery came past on a large horse which started threatening to rear and backing up very close to the pony my daughter was on - still tied to a fence (approx one metre between both their back ends). Staff did come over to check on my daughter after seeing this.

Lesson eventually started, so short staffed for what they had booked in (at least three lessons running at once) that the instructor had to lead one of the ponies, so it was hard for her to focus on each rider or for the riders to hear her.

What I will say is that the helpers and the instructors were very good and lovely with my little girl who was very nervous after the incident with the big horse which gave her a fright.

Also overheard a conversation between two of the helpers saying they would not get a chance to eat that day.

Just very poorly organised and safety clearly not a priority with regards the loose girth and tying ponies to fences with novice riders (no helpers holding horses) on the side of a walk way for other horses to pass close behind the ponies.

I contacted the riding centre the following day advising I’d like to raise my concerns. I made it clear I did not want a refund or a free lesson I just wanted to address the safety issues so they wouldn’t be a danger to other children in the future. I was advised the owner/manager would call back. The lady I spoke with on the phone said that they have far too much booked in and don’t have enough staff for it. Seven days on, no call back so feel it would be most sensible to leave a review warning others as it’s likely nothing will change.

I went to this riding school and I was five minutes late on the horse and then when I got in the arena, the woman said to me Don’t go behind the horse he kicks I turn into the middle and it came charging at me. I was scared for my life and the leader said to me you shouldn’t. You shouldn’t have gone behind the horse but I was not behind the horse. The horse kept pulling down at one point she pulled that she pulled the raids out of my hand and then when the leader came over she said you should’ve had a tight grip, but my grip was tight. 100% do not recommend.

Been riding here for years. They've taught me from the ground up. When I first started there I'd barely sat on a horse, and I've since jumped little courses and single fences up to a meter. They've got fantastic horses, from friendly little school ponies to amazing showjumpers. I've sat on so many different types here I've lost count, and its honestly making me into a better horseperson. It's not all about throwing you over fences, if you talk to the instructors they'll help you work on what you want to. Show up on time and put in the dedication and they'll really help you to achieve what you want to.

Clean, professional yard. Horses are well looked after by knowledgeable staff. What more do you need? 🙂

Tried here as a filler while my normal instructor is off ill, and will not be returning. Did not feel safe on the horse (no fault of the horse) or with my instructor. My instructor spent most of her time on her phone or chatting (sometimes with her back to me), never asked me where I was up to or how I felt about things before the lesson started, barked orders at me which were not helping and obviously didn't want to spend the time to help fix any of the issues I was having, the horse spooked and I nearly came off and she showed no concern what so ever, to name a few issues. I got off shaking and scared and with barely any of my little confidence left, which has never ever happened before. Would of gotten off in the first 10mins if I hadn't already pre-paid.

There was a lesson next to me with a little girl no older than 13 riding round and jumping, and at one point her instructor picked up a call on her phone, went to the other side of the arena and put her back to her chatting!!

It is obvious this isn't a passion for many of the instructors, rather a business and way to make money. Everything was rushed, many lessons going on at once, people and horses everywhere, a little overwhelming to say the least.

Not worth the ÂŁ40 I paid, even without considering it was only 30mins which I didn't realise until the night before. Would not recommend.
