Nigel is a fantastic driving instructor! He is extremely patient and understanding. His methods of instruction are very unique and professional. His sense of humour always livens up every lesson and makes you feel at ease! I passed my test with only 4 minor faults. Using our own vehicle and trailer Nigel kindly gave me a couple of trailer lessons (which I know he no longer offers) I didn’t need a licence but needed guidance, encouragement and confidence which Nigel expertly gave me! I successfully reversed our trailer into our work unit today which is all thanks to Nigel. If you’re looking for an instructor that is knowledgeable and explains all aspects clearly, look no further!!! I certainly wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I recently purchased a 29ft Caravan, and have no towing experience, so thought it best to try and find someone who does training, which is not all that easy to find since the towing license requirement was scrapped.
I contacted John Paige trailers who highly recommended Nigel.

I gave Nigel a phone call to explain what I was after, and from this he gave me an email with a list of dates for availability also trying to work around my work schedule by giving me weekend options.

We arranged a day where he promptly turned up at the time he said and got straight down to business with a short presentation highlighting many points about safe driving, which was quite nice as you do tend to forget a bit of information over the years.

As Trailer training is not required anymore you need to supply your own outfit which makes sense to me as that is what I will be using and would like to be familiar with.

He checked it all over and will even give you tips on hitching/unhitching.

We were soon ready to hit the road, and with Nigel's calm teaching manner instilling confidence in myself it all became quite natural.

Then we got to a spot with enough room to practice reversing manoeuvres.
With Nigel's patience and knowledge I was able to grasp some of the useful tools in helping to reverse my caravan.

We arrived back home where two times previously it has taken me anywhere between 30-45 mins to get my caravan on the driveway, with Nigel's guidance (he did not have to take the wheel from me :-p) it was parked up within 5 minutes.

I would say I started with a confidence level of around 3/10 and came back at least 6/10 after 4 hours spent on the course.

I would thoroughly recommend Nigel and his training to anyone wishing to hone in their towing skills.

Very pleased overall, even stayed for a brew rather than just rushing off.
