My daughter initially started training at Schools of Kung Fu Chelmsford while she was in sixth form college, looking for self-defence skills as she felt it was necessary to be able to protect herself. She took to it like a duck to water, and after visiting one of her sessions, I was so impressed that I decided to join too!

Having had no martial arts experience before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but from day one, the instructors were welcoming, supportive, and made learning Wing Chun both enjoyable and accessible. Over the past two years, my confidence has grown massively, and I’ve developed skills I never thought I’d have.

The classes are well-structured, challenging, and fun, with a great mix of people from all backgrounds. It’s a truly friendly and inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to improve at their own pace.

Having trained in various martial arts as a teenager, I then took a long break due to various operations, family commitments and lockdown occurring which meant that I stopped training altogether.

About a year ago, I decided it was time to get back into martial arts and was fortunate to find Schools of Kung Fu Essex right on my doorstep. It’s been fantastic to return to Wing Chun, and I’ve found the club to be incredibly warm and welcoming. The instructors are knowledgeable, supportive, and create a great training environment.

Getting older can be challenging, looking for the right club but I absolutely love it here! No egos, mixed classes and everyone is so friendly.

There is so much to learn and easily the best sifu/trainer that I have experienced, Sifu Krul makes all the classes enjoyable but also so much to learn from him.

I’ve enjoyed my time here so much that I’ve also enrolled my son in the kids’ classes. It’s been amazing to see his confidence grow—he’s much more outgoing now, and he loves training!

I highly recommend Schools of Kung Fu Essex to both adults and parents looking for a great place to train. Whether you’re new to martial arts or returning after a break, this is a fantastic school to be a part of!

Brilliant school run by Sifu Kul. I would recommend joining this club for all age groups. As a student for over 5 years I have developed both internal and external skills.
Its a very welcoming club and I have had good experiences training in other locations including HQ Croydon. I spent many years training in other Wing Chun clubs, outside of Schools of Kung Fu and the breath of the curriculum, quality of instructors and welcoming nature, this is the best place to learn Kung Fu in the UK.

Fantastic. I have studied several martial arts styles and the way Sifu Kul explained the principles and application of Wing Tsun was professional and knowledgable.
I have been to a few clubs where talk the talk but I know more than the teacher! This was not the case.
