My experience of Chess is positive to date. I referred a homeless person to them (via streetlink) and I found both Natalie and Jess to be caring, thorough and professional. I was particularly impressed by the concern they showed for the vulnerable adult. I found them to be caring, honest and thorough. I hope (and believe fully) that they will follow up with the person who is currently street homeless because although I don't know her personally I felt she was desperately in need of agency support. Based on the response from Chess and their operatives (Natalie and Jess) I believe that it was a very good decision to contact them.

I was a 20 year old female - so vunerable and scared. Most of the staff were great but a few were just evil. I was in the night shelter for a few months and was then moved to the annex house a few metres away. I ended up being kicked out of the shelter and system due to missing counselling sessions. I was depressed, alone and scared. Awful memories awful service.

Doing a good job in helping get single, homeless people back on their feet. Volunteering for sleepover as backup for the support worker is easy. You get to bed at 11pm and I've never been woken before 06:30. If you are at all interested don't hesitate to get in touch and have a visit.

I spent time in the Colchester and Clacton night shelters, chess is the only place that helped me into accommodation.
