Wednesdays at ROEC are truly the highlight of our week. My daughter (2 years) has the most fantastic time (and if I’m honest I do too) I feel the group has given my daughter a lot of confidence to be outdoors, around animals and playing out in nature.
The staff are really friendly and accommodating. My daughter has allergies, but this has been no trouble, her needs have always been taken into consideration. They have always gone above and beyond to include her, even providing special foods she can eat with everyone else, or changing a planned activity to ensure she can join in.
We have fed and cuddled lambs, been on tractor rides, been pond dipping, cooked marshmallows and chocolate and a whole load of other lovely foods on the fire. We’ve made bird feeders and done many other lovely activities, in all weathers, it’s always great fun. We know there is lot more fun to be had as the warmer months draw closer.

Rutland Ducklings is a brilliant group for little ones and we would thoroughly recommend to anyone. The session always starts with a hands on experience in the farm - to holding and feeding the lambs, to grooming the horses and looking after pigs and goats. Up in the Forest School afterwards is a great social experience for parents and kids! You know the environment is safe for the little ones - from playing in the mud kitchens, to building dens and pond dipping. It is also a great chance for the adults to have a natter and it is such a friendly environment created by the staff. Our personal favourite is roasting marshmallows round the campfire!

We visited with our year 4 cohort in the summer term and it was agreed by all staff and children that it was the best trip they had been on. Lee was brilliant and the organisation of the two days was great. The children loved the forest school, orienteering and cooking as well as looking at the farm animals. Lee was also great at communicating with me in the build up and came in to meet the children, making them more comfortable with the idea of going. We are looking forward to coming back next year. Thanks again and recommend this to anyone looking for a first residential for a KS2 year group.

My son and I have thoroughly enjoyed the Rutland Ducklings group, so much so we have just booked into our third block of sessions! Lovely interaction with the farm animals, and time to play and enjoy outdoor activities too. Would highly recommend!

We've has such a brilliant few weeks with the ROEC. A nice, relaxed environment and it's great to be outside and do something different each week. Really like how the session is split into two parts - animals on the farm first followed by a different weekly forest activity, we've loved it. Thank you guys.
