RNAS Gosport. This is a photograph from my Fathers FAA pilots log book. The grass runways are clearly depicted. It’s was most likely dates around 1952. North is indicated top right in photo. HMS Sultan is clearly visible, centre shot. Enjoy.

Various events on here throughout the year (prior to Covid). The fireworks display is always good and my children love seeing the monster trucks when the summer show is on. Also keep an eye out for the pantomime as they are usually really good leading up to Christmas. Prices aren't usually extortionate. Can be a bit of a nightmare getting out of the car parks when the events are full so possibly leave a bit early before they shut.

Good training for both military and civilians, food could be better but with the shop on base it makes up for it. Accommodation gets the job done with minimal bells and whistles. Sultan show each year is usually a good laugh with some pretty good food!

I have Sent two emails with no response. Very poor for an established event. I am requesting a refund on my family ticket, for the fireworks display on the 27 /10/2021. I left my house at 18:00 last night and what normally takes less than 15 minutes took over 2 hours and we still never made it into your carpark. We sat in your traffic queue while the fireworks started.
I believe you needed to organise your car Search team members better, or know how long this takes and allow a limited number of cars in. The hundreds of people who were sat outside the fencing had a better display than my children who I'd paid for.
I would like someone to contact me regarding this matter please.

We have come to the show every year for the last 20 - with the exception of last year cancelled because of
Pandemic. This evening we queued for an hour just to get down Grange road and with 5 mins to spare had to abandon the car and watch from the outside for the first time ever. I have no idea why the traffic was so bad but when we walked past it was just not flowing into sultan as well as years past. Sadly slightly upset kids because we just were then unable to actually get in without walking all the way around to the other side - they did delay the start - can only assume was sheer weight of traffic causing the problem and previously they have only allowed traffic to enter from one side of the road

Booked tickets for the fireworks this evening the security on the gate was so inefficient it took 50 minutes to travel the last half mile and get onto the site. Very poor show from HMS Sultan!!! Waste of an evening and Β£24!!

I received a picture of my aunt with her grandson. He was in uniform on his hat was hms sultan. I thought it was a ship. I was in the us navy stationed in holy loch Scotland. So I was just curious. I was surprised that hms sultan is a land base.
