Amazing place! First you walk through a small museum with the information boards and the artefacts displayed. Then you follow a walkway to admire the mosaics. After that there's the garden with information boards about the palace that dominated this place 2000 years ago. Just fascinating!

This was a great glimpse into Roman History. The museum gives an interesting timeline, with many artefacts.
The mosaics are amazing and you can see them in situ quite close up from walkways. Incredibly what you see is only a fraction of the Palace.
The gardens are lovely and there is parking and a decent cafe.

Great place for the UK if you want to see some real roman finds. Well presented little museum, but the star is the hall built over the roman palace, with some noteworthy mosaics and informative panels to understand more about the original building. Decent cafe and shop on site too.

Incredible place - the best mosaics I've seen in the country, probably the best in the world after Pompeii. Stunning collection in a gorgeous modern building which you can get right up close to the mosaics from, also a very good museum with lots of artefacts from the site inside. The best mosaic, or at least the most impressive, is the dolphin & cupid mosaic. Stunning colours and patterns, quite sunken because of subsidence and another mosaic lifted out from under it. The early, pre-100 AD mosaics are also very good to see. The garden is also pretty and well worth seeing.

Interesting site of a Roman palace with some lovely preserved mosaics, great museum taking you though the discovery of the site and the artefacts found. Easily accessed by wheelchair or electric scooter. Outside gardens and grounds also hold more ruins. Nice reasonably priced cafe and even a little second hand bookshop on site. Plenty of grounds for the children to run around in aswell. No charge for parking and lots of spaces.

Visited Tues 16th Jul and had a fantastic time, the highlight being a really informative and interesting tour. Alan our tour guide was very knowledgeable and really made the history of the Roman palace come alive. The mosaics are very well preserved and cared for, with intriguing things to spot in them, as pointed out by Alan. Well worth a visit.

If you like history, this is a great place to visit. A chance to see what remains of a roman palace that was built here in the 1st century AD. Remarkable roman mosaic floors. Make sure you visit their video presentation first, as it will help give you some context to what you are looking at.
