I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my frustration and dissatisfaction regarding the condition of the equipment at the gym. Several pieces are broken and have not been repaired, which negatively impacts the workout experience and falls short of what we expect from a facility that charges a monthly fee of £35.00.

It is disheartening to see that, despite paying this amount every month, I am not receiving the quality of service that was promised. I believe that such an investment should ensure access to well-maintained equipment in good working order.

I would like to request a resolution to this issue and to know what measures are being taken to ensure that all equipment is in optimal condition for use. I hope my complaint will be taken seriously, and that we can resolve this situation promptly.

Extremely Disappointed – Ongoing Issues Ignored by Management

I am writing this review out of sheer frustration, as it has been impossible to reach the Director directly, and my concerns have continuously been ignored by the staff and management at this gym.

For over six months, I have been raising complaints regarding the temperature and lack of ventilation in the gym—particularly in the back area where the weights and lifting equipment are located. The temperature is set at 22°C with no proper air circulation, and when the gym is crowded, it becomes extremely humid and stuffy, to the point where it’s difficult to breathe.

Despite multiple attempts to address this with managers, I have been dismissed and misled. They keep telling me that only someone from the council can change the temperature settings, which I honestly find hard to believe. Why can’t staff adjust the temperature when paying members are clearly uncomfortable? It’s completely unacceptable.

What’s worse is the unhelpful attitude of the male staff and managers, who show no interest in resolving these issues. One of the personal trainers, Amdy, couldn't even explain how to use basic equipment like the power plate. When I asked for help, he simply said he didn’t know how it works. This is shocking, as every trainer should be trained on how to assist members with the gym equipment.

Overall, I feel ignored, unsupported, and extremely disappointed. The staff seem more like a careless group than professional employees. There needs to be better supervision and accountability. I sincerely hope this review reaches someone in upper management or the Director, because the current situation is unacceptable and needs urgent attention.

Today I got the full body scrub and massage . Josephine was an absolute star, she gave me one of the best massage of my life . She was friendly, gentle and very caring.
My body have never felt so smooth and my face has never been that glowy. I will definitely be back. Thanks you again Josephine

Never a person to talk to as they’re all just sitting around joking and laughing with one another. I can think of one lady who is absolutely wonderful, but have encountered such horrible staff - especially the men. Waiting 10 minutes just to ask a question as they’re often having private chats about their weekend.

The pool lane etiquette is absolutely ridiculous - have no idea what/where the lifeguards are half the time. Why bother having set lanes if staff allow it to be a free for all?

Gym is subpar and again, no etiquette. Just a really poor service.

I have read reviews on here that seemed very harsh. I am giving the the Centre 5* due to the value for money that you get. Regardless of your fitness interests there is possibly an option for you here.

It is a very good generalist fitness centre, you have about enough of what you need.
I always see maintenence people checking the gym equipment which is really good.

** My criticism is for some of the staff members who look after the gym floor, I don't see them proactive to help and get involved with the members like I have seen in other gyms in the past.
It is common for some gym members to break gym etiquette where they load their belongings on benches and take up two people's spaces, use several machines at once, the PTs need to communicate to people what shouldn't be acceptable in the gym.

Absolutely disgraceful place! Just had a member of staff setting off the fire alarm because a parent wouldn't move away from the pool side. The viewing window is closed for weeks with no where for us to watch out kids so pool side is the only place to stand.
Life guards falling asleep the week before and this week yawning their heads off or playing with their hair and no attention on the kids swimming. Absolutely appalling place

Shocked by the behavior of staff at this centre and appalled by the lack of action to address this ongoing issue. Generally staff do not greet you upon arrival and are engaged in loud, personal conversations, shouting at each other across the building. Yesterday a young woman at the front desk was eating a bag of crisps and drinking soda whilst ignoring clients coming in. Absolutely appalling. Will be cancelling my membership due to the unprofessionalism of this place. Not worth the value for money to be exposed to rude, clueless staff and inefficient management. Furthermore, the cleaning of this building is far from adequate. This centre urgently requires better management of staff for the wellbeing of its members.

Nice sports hall with nice floors and walls. Ceilings are white but quite high. Water fountain on the first floor was broken, so every time when you want to fill up your bottle, you'd have to go to the gym through the bars and it was a pain. Other than that, it's a very nice venue.
