Another great activity afternoon with the museums team. This time at Halloween House but we have been to lots of their holidays activity days and all have been excellent. The kids had a great time and really enjoyed the slime making.

Fantastic historical house to visit and discover some of the rich Warwickshire past. Check for local events and ensure to book in advance as it can become very busy especially during the summer months. Definitely recommend for a visit with friends and family.

What a disappointment! After spending a lovely day in Warwick, we'd been recommended this place for a visit before 5pm to avoid closing time.. so off we went to visit another cultural and historical site in this wonderful town. There were signs at the entrance to ask visitors to keep noise to a minimum as 'ceremonies' were being conducted, so we complied. We looked at the historical exhibits accompanied by pounding music from a skipping CD rendition of Mariah Carey's "Sweet Fantasy" (obviously a choice for a 'ceremony'). As if by magic, a character similar to the shop keeper from Mister Ben appeared through the door from the room where the skipping CD was playing. "What are YOU doing  here?", exclaimed the finely preened popping-jay as he fluttered his eyelids in irritation and wrang his dainty little hands in frustration. This little theatrical performance of Basil Fawlty-esque agitation rather took me by surprise, and resplendent in the power this little moment gave him, he continued, "It's not open to the public, you know! It's booked for wedding ceremonies and I have two this afternoon!" I was waiting for a moment of civil politeness from him but I was being rather optimistic, I should of expected him to shout, "RAUS! RAUS!". I left thinking how rude he was. He did apologise but only to some unseen guests behind the door; I do hope that was on behalf of himself rather than anyone else....

Just adding a response to the owner - The recommendation to visit was made to us on Wednesday 1st May 2024 in Warwick itself (it doesn't seem to be common knowledge locally that it's been closed to the public since 2017), but my main gripe was the snotty approach of the guy you hired to MC wedding events; I don't think I'd be writing this if he'd shown common decency to us (I'd expect that as barest minimum professional etiquette for public facing staff that I'd hire). On the day the only signage on the way into the property requested visitors to keep noise to a minimum, so "who knew?", as they say. Also, it may be worthwhile updating the information sign located on the corner of Castle Hill and Castle lane; unfortunately this screenshot from Googlemaps isn't clear enough to show the text detail for each of Warwick's buildings of interest.

The museum is currently closed to the general public. The private Regimental museum is still open to the general public and they provide reception staff. The museum is also open for organised school parties. Market Hall museum in the square in Warwick town centre has been refurbished and has a decent cafe as well.

Contribution only entrance fee. Some good stuff for children downstairs and The Royal Warwickshire Regiment of Fusiliers Museum is on the first floor. Well worth a visit
