We had a lovely 2 night stay at this location. Very clean , super comfortable bed and great staff. Abigail was awesome at check-in. So many spaces to sit, chill and sip something refreshing. The tube was close by and the waterfront was as well. We found some great food spots within 1/2 mile. Would definitely again! ❤️

Had an upgrade to a room with a coffee machine so that was lovely. Hotel and room was spotless and staff were very professional.||Evening meal was appalling though. We waited a long while and it was stone cold when it arrived. They did take money off the bill and the waitress ( maybe manager) was brilliant about it, but it was disappointing, so would not eat here again. It is expensive, cold and tiny portions. ||In the room our TV didn't work none of the apps or anything. Reception said an engineer would visit the next day but we were only there one night, so that was also a bit disappointing, especially when it was an upgraded room. I'd rather have had the working TV than the coffee machine to be honest. ||Pool and sauna etc was spotless and a lovely experience. ||Breakfast was much better than evening meal and it was efficient ie two coffee machines each one doing 3 coffees at a time, fast toast grill etc. So there was no waiting around. Food was good and plenty, quickly refilled etc. ||All in all a pleasant stay with just a couple of snags. ||Eat out in the evening, but enjoy the hotel pool and sauna facility.

This stunning new hotel is awesome. As soon as you step into the second level and reception area, you’re greeted by a wonderful, fresh scent. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable. We stayed for three nights while visiting from New Zealand. Although the hotel is located quite far from the city center, the DLR station is just a one minute walk away on the second floor, providing easy access to all Tube lines. Tower Hill is just a short ride away, which was very convenient. The buffet breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of fresh and tasty options.

However, there were a couple of downsides. The shower kept turning cold for a split second every minute or two, which was quite frustrating. Additionally, the air conditioning in our room didn’t work properly. Even though we set it to 16C (the lowest it could go) during our summer (we left on June 2nd 2025), it had no effect, leaving us uncomfortably hot at night. Luckily, all four of us can tolerate the heat fairly well, but it was still an inconvenience. Overall, it’s a fantastic hotel with just a few areas for improvement.

The hotel itself is great — clean, modern, well-located (just a short walk from the tube), with solid amenities like a heated pool, sauna, and a decent breakfast. But what really makes the difference is the service.

At the end of the day, it’s the people who define the experience. And in this case, it was REDZ at the front desk who truly stood out. Friendly, professional, and genuinely caring — he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

It’s employees like Redz who turn a good stay into a memorable one, and who make guests want to come back. He’s a real asset to the hotel, and a big reason we’d choose Aloft London Excel again.

Not the best location, however, right next to a train station with brilliant connections to other areas of London. Room was a little small and couldn't get the heating to turn down when we first arrived, this was very uncomfortable as it was a very hot day and unable to open windows. We went out for the evening and it had been rectified by the time we got back by staff. We stayed for 2 nights and on arrival, the bed was decorated with petals and balloons as it was my birthday, plus Happy birthday wrote on the mirror, when we returned in the evening they had also left a little cake, it was a lovely touch and it made me very happy. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Loved the swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Would definitely stay again.

We went for my mother's 90th birthday. The check-in staff were really kind (Kelvina) and ensured my parents had an easy access room which they were delighted with. A cake was put in the room for my mum and the next day the breakfast staff (led by Switzel, Nohua and the ever cheerful Parbati sang happy birthday spontaneously). The rooms had a fresh feel - I was expecting Moxy style, but the Aloft felt nearer to a much more premium brand than that - akin to a "baby W Hotel". Alex and the lovely Sankat, the restaurant manager at dinner time were brilliant - cheerful and interested in old people. Irina, from House keeping was especially kind to my parents who were in wheelchairs. A lovely stay - my mum was delighted.

What a great location. Parked up and paid £20 for 24 hour parking. Went into London for a concert, the next day visited the Excell.|The hotel is very comfortable and spotless, nice bar on 2nd floor with outside seating. The breakfast was really nice well cooked and hot. |My partner is disabled the access to the hotel was very easy with plenty of disabled bays for parking. |Very easy access to Excel centre all same level from hotel.|We had a great stay, the staff were lovely, and we had no access issues at all. Top notch. |Certainly will consider returning if we need accommodation for London in the future.
