We had a comfortable stay in room 1101 recently. It was a shame there was no bottled water provided in the room, as this is quite normal for most mid to higher range hotel chains, and I think this should be offered as standard in Novotel Reading. The main issue I had was the car park, which we pre-paid for. It was great having parking in such a central location, but the car park is an absolute nightmare design, and the spaces are far too small. The website should offer the size of the spaces, and note that many of them are reduced in width by concrete pillars, rendering them useless to many car sizes. We had to manoeuvre multiple times to park, with only an electric car space available for me to use. Luckily for me we have an electric car, but if we did not, then the car park would have been unusable. It should be redesigned with larger spaces, and you could raise the price to compensate for fewer spaces available. If customers did not want to pay this, they could use other car parks with similarly tight spaces for less money. I should praise the reception staff and security, who dealt well with a lady who seemed to be having a mental health crisis in the morning of our departure. Ultimately she was detained by Police, but the staff coped with it calmly. Thank you.

During my stay with friends at Novotel Reading in Apr, what made it more memorable was the warmest welcoming of staff at the bar and the restaurant. Alexis welcomed us by trying to learn our saying of "good morning" in our own language. He was so friendly and cheerful and looked like old friends, giving us a home-stay feeling.|Alex is also so nice and helpful, helping us in every detail when we were having our breakfast. Alex shared with us information about the city, so helping us knowing more about Reading. Other restaurant staff are also so nice and cheerful. It made the tasteful breakfast more enjoying.|Really appreciate your excellent service. We will be back soon.

The hotel is ideally located in the centre or Reading with both parking and easy access to the train station, and it has a wellness centre, including a pool. Our bedroom was very spacious, with a separate toilet and both shower and bath in the main bathroom. Downsides: it was very hot, even in April, and there were not enough high chairs in the breakfast room to accommodate all babies. Also in need of refurbishment throughout.

Staying for 2 nights to attend an event in Henley On Thames, the Novotel ticked every box we needed.||Central, competitively priced, value parking (see below), clean, quiet with decent facilties.||We didn't bother to try to park in the hotel and instead used the easily accessible Broadstreet Mall. Validate the ticket at reception and you park overnight for a bargain £7 just a flat 5 minute walk away. "Easily accessible" does come with a caveat that means our arrival after 6pm on a Friday and collection of car 9am on Sunday does mean the mall is shut and access is via the far side of the building vs the hotel.||I used top cashback and hotels.com loyalty scheme to get a room for less than £35 pp pn which i thought was excellent value.||Warning, the pool is small and if you want a relaxing swim, 1 family or 1 group of lads in there with you and this will not be a sanctuary of peace. The steam room and sauna are, however, reasonably spacious and fitted our needs. Additional towels and free lockers provided. ||Room was clean, warm and comfortable but wished it came with more than 2 teabags and 2 milks but I'm sure reception would have provided more if we had asked.||Good breakfast with standard but plentiful choices. Great efficiency and smiles from Monika also (we smiled back alot too).||Little reason to stay in Reading again but Novotel would be the first place i would check.

5 min walk from train station, bus routes on the door, easy access to town centre, restaurants, shops, newsagents.
We were concerned about it being noisy overnight due to its central location, but we had a really lovely night. Not a single noise at all.

We didn't use the swimming pool or gym but it is an added bonus.

Breakfast was really lovely and services was faultless.

Here for one night, 8th floor, Executive Room. Has everything I needed, bit worn, but comfortable and well equipped.
Pros:
It has an excellent location. Less then 5 minutes to the station, less to the city centre.
Also a fraction of the cost of London or staying at LHR/LGW - both of which are easily accessible from here.
Cons:
A little tired, but it is clean and well kept.

As it's my second time in three months, would recommend if the price point is right and suits my needs.

Been staying at the Novotel for the past 5 weeks and they have made the stay as comfortable as possible. Noy the chef putting on lovely specials and always catering to our needs.

The bar staff have always been pleasant and provided a well tailored service, always having a good laugh with everyone!

The only thing I could really say is that the air con needs improvement as the rooms can become very hot especially on the higher floors!

Amazing check-in desk and lovely people works here. Marissa checked us in earlier which it was a great plus. The location is great if you stay during mid-week, it's a nightmare on weekend. Very loud crowd gathering at anytime during the night, are you window soundproof? |Biggest negative downside, room was way too hot. Yeah, I get that a lot, you got Air Cooling System as opposed to the traditional Air Conditioning Unit, fair play for the environment and all of that. But, did you maintenance team set up to release cool air in rooms? I don't think so. |Great idea to have a mini-supermarket in the hotel but if your price for a bottle of beer is £5, your shelves will remains full for a looooong time.|Last thing: what happened to the family corner? I thought Novotel was family oriented..
