I had a really excellent 1.5 hour private hack here. I was a bit nervous but the lady that took me out was extremely nice and helpful. It was absolutely beautiful up on the heath part of the forest and we saw plenty of wild ponies. Even managed some canters which were fantastic. Felt very safe and happy, hope to return again!

My partner and I went on a 1.5 hour mixed ability hack. I am an experienced rider and have ridden for over 20 years, my partner however, had never been riding before or sat on a horse and was quite nervous to try it out. I have been to Bagnum a few times now with different people including with Southampton University in the past so I knew what to expect when coming here. Our instructor was very friendly and encouraging and made him feel at ease. She provided clear instructions and he was trotting independently and well by the end of it. She was very friendly throughout the ride. We were also lucky to have only been the 2 of us so it felt like a private ride! The perks of going at this time of year I suppose! Views were absolutely stunning and didn't disappoint, I feel she picked the best route! Being an experienced rider, I was also able to get in quite a few canters and lovely long stretches across the new forest which was very lovely as I wasn't necessarily expecting that many especially as I know it's a mixed ability ride so that was a nice added touch. I would recommend the 1.5 hour hack though rather than 1 hour as you get more for your money and it also takes a bit of time to get out onto the forest as you there is a bit off road riding at the beginning. You'll be pleased to hear my partner hasn't been put off by riding and so I'm sure you'll be seeing our faces again when I drag him along! Big smiles all around!

Bit of a shame rules have changed and we can't take pics on our phones anymore so is a bit of a faff getting the pics off the instructor later from their phone, though I can understand why this rule is in place for safety reasons. And we did get the photos emailed to us at a later date.

Thanks so much for a great ride overall,
Taz

I’ve just started getting back into riding, something I loved when I was very young. I recently had a lesson with Eden, who was fantastic! Eden filled me with confidence, didn’t mind any ‘stupid’ questions I had, and was super positive. A week or so later I booked an hour long hack over New Forest for mixed abilities. It was sunny, and the stable guides were lovely. I was paired off with Isla (I hope I spelt that right!) , who was also incredibly encouraging and lovely. I got to ride Bob both times, and he was great, handling my bouncing around superbly. Isla also took a lovely photo of Bog and I on the back, which was whatsapped to me. I’m going back for another lesson soon and can’t wait! I would recommend.

Went on a 1hr Hack, this was great fun for a very basic level rider, the staff were very friendly, with lots of tips and advice with phrase whilst you was improving throughout the hack. Walking, trotting throughout with road, pathways and a little on a field. Great to get you used to a ridding with the basic without the major expense of lessons.
Thank you Alex for helping us enjoy the experience.

My husband and I have recently been having lessons with Eden, which are super fun! We’re both learning so much and it’s really developing our confidence to ride. We look forward to going every time. Highly recommended
