Roy has been a game changer for us and our fizzy cocker spaniel. We were struggling with focus, recall and engagement with our 1 year old.

Roy has really shown us how to harness her natural drives to build on our bond and obedience. We love seeing her thrive with games she was born to play with us!

Roy is an incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging and effective trainer. He has built our confidence and understanding in training our dog. Highly recommend!

We approached Roy to help us with basic obedience training, having just adopted a young Viszla rescue. Roy came to meet us even before the puppy arrived and gave us useful advice to help settle him in.
Throughout the 6-week 1 to1 puppy course he gave us the confidence to set boundaries and use positive reinforcement to help us achieve the desired behaviour.
More importantly Roy gave us a professional and knowledgeable insight into canine behaviour and communication.
I wish we’d done this with our previous dog.
Roy has given us the tools and knowledge to raise a well behaved and confident dog.
We are using his training methods daily and we couldn’t be happier with our new pup’s progress.
Highly Recommend RY DOGS.

I feel that we totally landed on our feet enlisting Roy and his incredible knowledge and expertise. Roy helped to advise and guide us with every stage of the arrival, settling, integration and training of our rescue dog Athena. When Athena arrived, she was five months old and was initially very stressed/traumatised after a long (and probably terrifying) trip from Cyprus. Roy gave top notch advice, really helping me as a first time dog owner to understand things from Athena's perspective, and also greatly helping me to calm my own nerves (many times). Roy's knowledge of dogs and their behaviour is second to none, his approach is calm and extremely kind - to both dogs and humans and he is more than happy to share his wisdom, educating humans in order to facilitate great relationships with their dogs. I love Roy's natural approach and his passion for his work! I feel so fortunate that Athena is a wonderful, social, well balanced rescue - we walk her mostly off lead and she is brilliant with other dogs, humans, children etc. This is testament to Roy's invaluable assistance. I have so much to thank Roy for and highly recommend his services to anyone who may need assistance with dog behavioural issues, especially if you have a rescue!

We had the pleasure of working with Roy to help train our Golden Retriever, Leo, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. After just three weeks with us, Leo had started testing boundaries, particularly with pulling on his lead and hesitating to go up the stairs. Roys calm and professional approach helped build Leo’s confidence, and we quickly saw progress. Leo is now much more comfortable with stairs and is showing great improvement in agility. Best of all, his leash walking is fantastic – we feel safe and confident taking him out, and the pulling is a thing of the past. Roys training techniques made a world of difference, and we highly recommend him!

Roy was recommended to us and it is very easy to see why. We contacted him because our year old FRL Blue was pulling on the lead and jumping at us and just generally excitable in every way. From our first session Blue was like a different dog and Roy has continued to help us so much with her in a kind caring but professional way and made the whole process of learning for both ourselves and Blue really enjoyable. We would have no hesitation in recommending Roy.

Absolutely delighted with Roy’s training scheme. We have a lively (polite term!) 6 month old Golden who has responded really positively to Roy and his methods. And as a long term dog owner I have learned all sorts of new training methods and much else besides. Logical and super helpful information Roy, thank you

From the start, we knew two things about our first dog; it had to be a working Cocker Spaniel, and it had to be well-behaved. Finding the puppy was easy, thanks to breeder friends—but ensuring good behaviour? We knew that’d be the real challenge.
I first heard about Roy through friends whose own working Cocker puppy had completely transformed under his guidance after 14 tough months where they had incorrect advice from unaccredited “trainers”. Even before bringing Orca home, Roy was generous with his time and his advice was clear, simple and unwavering. It was immediately obvious that his expertise would be invaluable.
Orca is now nearly 1 year old and is better behaved and more obedient than both my husband and me! We feel incredibly lucky to share our lives with such a wonderful, fun-loving Working Cocker who has accomplished so much whilst defying a number of people who said we wouldn’t manage to get some things done. After about six months, we could have continued our journey without Roy’s support—but why would we? His wealth of knowledge and experience keeps us focused and helps us bring out the absolute best in our dog.
If you’re getting a puppy—call Roy now.
Disclaimer: No journey is without its sacrifices… and in Orca’s case, a fair number of socks didn’t make it. Oh, and it’s hard work but so utterly enjoyable and worth it.

My 7 month old cocker spaniel, Poncho, and I have been seeing Roy for a little over 3 months now and I cannot recommend him enough. We started with the 6-week puppy course which initially Roy recommended we start at ~14 weeks old instead of 12 as my puppy needed a couple extra weeks at home before starting training. This proved to be sound advice, as when we began the puppy course Poncho was confident and engaged with the training.

Roy doesn’t just teach your dog new things, he teaches you, the handler, how to be the best owner you can be. He has set me up with the tools and knowledge that I need to practice everything we learn during training in our day to day lives. He picks me up on small things that I am doing wrong, like my body position when giving commands, things that you wouldn’t even realise you were doing wrong. These slight adjustments have made a huge difference to my puppy’s responsiveness to certain commands.

Overall I could not be happier with Roy’s services and I will be coming back for monthly refresher sessions to get me through the adolescent months!
