I don’t like going to gyms and have never had a personal trainer, but now that I’m in my early sixties I felt I needed to improve my strength and fitness. The sessions with Carly have been a revelation. Not only does she have an impressive knowledge of her field, she is a talented and thoughtful teacher. Tailored to my capabilities and personal goals, sessions are always interesting and enjoyable - chalking up a pb is particularly satisfying and motivating. The sessions are great fun too: Carly is a delight with a wonderful sense of humour and I think my diaphragm gets as much of a workout from all the laughing as all the other muscle groups we work on.

Carly has a warm and friendly style and is able to adapt her training regularly so you never get bored and also hit your goals.
She is meticulous with her diary and that’s great because you never get messed about with appointments because your slot is yours and that helps when you have a busy diary!
You can be assured you will be pushed through every exercise you do to achieve what it is you want to do and her knowledge of the body and how it functions means she is able to adapt exercises to work with your physio or your own ability to break yourself! I have trained with her for over 6 months and my physio is thrilled with her focus on fixing my weak spots as well as keeping me motivated each week! I cannot recommend her enough, she gives you confidence , kicks you when you need and pushes you to be the best version of yourself!

Carly is an absolutely brilliant trainer (and person!) and her private PT gym is such a beautiful space to work out in. I can't express how liberating it has been to work with a trainer who didn't get me track my calories/macros! As someone who has got addicted to tracking and exercise in the past (making it my whole lifestyle, while other life areas suffered) it allows me to follow her example and work towards a healthy balance in my life instead.

I feel that this approach is actually helping me to progress better in my training and strength too, as I now have less of an all-or-nothing approach. If I had to sum up Carly's coaching style it's feel-good, encouraging, sunny, positive and fun! She's always asking for feedback on what you've enjoyed and what you want to work on too, so you can guarantee you'll always be given a training plan bespoke to you. I always look forward to our sessions (she also has very good playlists!) and leave with a huge sense of satisfaction and accomplishment every time, knowing I'm hitting a personal best in most sessions and seeing a positive difference in how I perform exercises, as well as generally just feeling better about myself and my body!

I should add too that I had a back, shoulder and knee injury during quite a few of my training sessions and she really supported me through this time and was extra aware when it came to my training programme.

Whether you're wanting to try PT for the first time (or want to get back into exercise) in a private environment, or if you have some specific strength goals and need support I definitely recommend getting in touch with Carly!

Carly is such a joy to be around! I’ve been working with her for over 4 months now and couldn’t recommend more.
**For those who hate gyms or working out- I’m the greatest advertisement for this! A consultation allowed us to casually discuss what my goals are and to give her fair warning that I hate exercise and pushing myself šŸ˜‚ I’m so grateful for how receptive Carly is and her whole ethos of working to feel fit, without scales or before and afters, whilst still tailoring workouts to push my target areas.
I see our weekly sessions as a social hour meeting a friend. Catching up and laughing helps me to forget any of my lazy discomfort whilst working out, and constantly reach new personal bests whilst she cheerleads and keeps record.
As someone easily embarrassed and who easily gives up, I couldn’t recommend more to work with Carly. To learn form and equipment without feeling silly, to be as social as you’d like, and to practice and progress in your own private space.

I’ve gone from no exercise and only ever walking to my car… to using muscles I never knew I had, and turning Bambi legs into a body where I actually see/feel muscle and strength that I’ve never seen before- just from one session a week!

Where do I even begin! Cannot rate Carly enough!
I have never been someone who can walk in to a gym and feel confident if anything that was my idea of hell! Mainly because I didn't have an absolute clue! That was my main reason for booking with Carly however I have gained so much more! I feel so much more confident and dare I say it excited! With Carly's expertise, support and kindness I am in complete shock of what I have achieved in my 6 sessions. Every time I visited A body to live for I left feeling a real buzz not just because of the exercise but for that one hour i didn't have to think about anything else. Carly made me feel so comfortable and it was like catching up with a friend! I'm already looking forward to going back for the one off sessions! Having never had a personal trainer before, I was slightly nervous/intimidated to start with Carly, but I can’t say how happy I am to have found her! Having never been a lover of organised exercise, I can honestly say I look forward to every session and enjoy Carly’s company as well as her encouragement. She pushes in exactly the right way to feel like you really can do it, without a hint of negativity, only focusing on achievements and progress. Carly is an amazing PT, she has so much enthusiasm in every session and is so encouraging! The workouts are challenging and so fun that they fly by every week. She tailors each session to your specific goals/abilities, and I always leave feeling strong and full of energy!

Training with Carly has massively improved my outlook on food & exercise - as someone who has struggled with eating disorders my whole life, Carly has been such a massive help in my recovery and learning to love my body for what it can do, rather than what it looks like.

Having the sessions in a private studio takes away the nerves that come with training in a gym and has helped me to become so much more confident with exercise. I highly recommend Carly to anybody looking for a personal trainer! ā¤ļø

Working with Carly is so refreshing! She has pushed me based on what I want to achieve through weight training whether it be strength, confidence or both!
There is no focus on my weight, weight loss, body size etc just how you feel and what you want to do.
I follow Carly's online program which I can do in my own time but have also been to her studio in Cornwall which is such a lovely place to work out with great vibes.
Working with Carly and A Body To Live For this year has had such a positive impact on my life and I can't thank Carly enough.
