Cloudbusting, the Kate Bush Experience. I went to see this last night at St Peters church in Belper. I have really been looking forward to this. Not blown away. Firstly, the sound was very low. This might have been the church acoustics but it was poor. 2. Choice of songs, many I didn't even recognise. I am a fan and have nearly all her albums. The lookalike said "here's one that a few of you might remember " why not play songs that we'll all remember. You're a tribute band for God's sake. Musicianship was good. But marred by rubbish sound and song Choice. I couldn't understand a single word she said between songs. Which there was too much of. Just play the hits. Verdict, not enthralled.

Attended St. Peter's to see 'In the Footsteps of Ewan McColl' 11th May which was absolutely superb.
Only complaint was that we couldn't properly hear what was being said in the first half. Mentioned it to the sound engineer and it turned out it was because of where we were sitting. He tweaked the system and it was perfectly fine in the second half.

Pretty good as a venue for folk concerts. A bit short on toilets, and the system for buying drinks is a bit unwieldy (but at least they do sell drinks - not bad for a church). Friendly and welcoming volunteers and organisers with good taste in performers.

Amazed at how warm it was inside on a cold frosty day outside. Very clean toilets and spacious foyer. Beautiful church inside. The two ministers were truly excellent in accommodating the wishes of the bereaved young family. The pews were all well upholstered, with additional cushions. If I lived in Belper I would go there regularly.

An unusual church. From the outside it looks like any other CofE Church but inside was different. The ceiling was flat ane painted red with white squares. There was a balcony round 3 sides - more like a methodist church. The stained glass windows up the sides were attractive an traditional. The east window was also attractive but in a very different style. I was singing there in a concert and it was a good place to sing but the pews were very hard!
