First time holiday in Cornwall. We stayed in the Mealhouse for a week which with one double bedroom was ideal for the two of us and a great base to explore Looe and Polperro both 3 miles away and all the excellent beaches within a short drive. Accommodation was very well equipped with everything we needed. We found the bed and pillows particularly comfy! With our daughter, son-in -law and 2 grandchildren under 5 in the nearby Shires Rest we made full use of the games room - pool table, table football, 2 large train sets and assorted toys as well as the slides, trampoline and little tractors in the outside play area. Guinea pigs, chickens, goats and Betty the sheep were all available for the grandchildren to feed. Particular highlight on site was the tractor ride which lasted 10-15 minutes us all around the farm ( cheers Simon!!!!). Although the farm was a mile down a track off the main road it was well signposted with a number of places for cars to pass each other without difficulty. A brilliant holiday with the added bonus of superb weather. We will definitely be back.

Set in quiet countryside at the end of a long narrow lane, this converted farmhouse is ideal for families and small groups who just want to get away from it all for a while. It is fairly well looked after with two lounges 5 bedrooms, one on suite, and a further family bathroom. The kitchen is huge and well equipped, with a LPG gas range, American style fridge, wine cooler, microwave, central island, lots of utensils, crockery etc, and table for 8 people to sit at for family dining or any other purpose. There is a large, reasonably secure back garden with garden furniture, gas BBQ and a large swim spa/hot tub. The property is nice and clean.|There were a couple of minor issues when we checked in but these were sorted out quickly and amicably. We also had a couple of issues with two of the beds during our stay, We thought they'd been resolved but the issue reoccurred later in our stay. The host was informed. If I had to pick up a negative for this place, I would say that it is in need of some TLC in a couple of areas. The doors to the garden don't lock so bolts have been fitted. There are a couple of loose paving slabs on the edge of the patio which tip when trodden on by a larger person and there is an annoying but intermittent air lock in the plumbing to the family bathroom, which can get quite loud during the night. Children need to be closely supervised when in the garden as although it is gated, it is not lockable.|All in all we had a good week here and I would recommend it.

We booked an out of season break in March and we loved every minute. ||Our cottage was so cosy and peaceful and very spacious!! It was very clean when we arrived too. ||My daughters absolutely loved the Guinea pigs and enjoyed the games room. ||I messaged a very helpful and friendly lady to ask if we could book an out of season feeding experience, I’m so glad I did my girls loved it!! Simon who lead this experience for us was very patient and friendly 😊||Our only recommendation would be if maybe different toys etc could be added in the game room ||We will definitely be returning 🥰

We really enjoyed our stay , the place was clean, a good size and in a good location, the electric charger on site was really helpful, the site itself is lovely . ||We did feel the £80 for the 2 dogs was very expensive though, we have stayed in numerous air bnbs before with our dogs and never paid that much , we’ve normally paid £20-£40. And even so there is normally some local treats for the dogs , a towel and bowl, which there was none of these at Polean farm. ||The curtain upstairs doesn’t really block out much light , so light evenings with a toddler was tough and I feel people who may like a lay in wouldn’t get one due to the light coming in. so it may be benefit from a good blind or better curtain.

In the first week of April, my family (grandparents, myself, 2 children (6,3) and 2 dogs (7, 8 months)) went to stay in the FarmHouse at Poleon.| |We had a fantastic stay and were incredibly lucky with glorious blue skies.| |Key points below:-|Pre-arrival communication/information – so I emailed Sarah a lot. She must have thought we were going to be the guests from hell but I had a lot of questions regarding layout, activities, what to do if the weather was awful, where I could book an online shop, etc. She was always incredibly responsive and patient and I appreciated it so much. |Arrival – the check in for the FarmHouse is late – its 5pm and it would benefit from being a bit earlier. We were driving from Surrey so would have appreciated a bit more time in the evening to stretch legs (mainly of little ones and dogs) before attempting a bedtime but it was fine.|The Farmhouse – the accommodation was lovely and the hot tub a huge hit. The mattresses were soft which I loved on the first two nights and then I showed my age and my back started to ache. Also – for anyone sleeping in the singles downstairs, the springs are gone. Fine for anyone under 6 stone but sadly that is not me anymore!! Also – the toliets/bathrooms are upstairs. Not a huge issue but to bear in mind from an accessibility perspective. Minor gripe – the batteries were either missing in some of the remotes or totally run out. I know its self catering but that was a bit much!!|The Farm – the grounds were fabulous, so safe and the boys and dogs could run around (in certain areas!) to their hearts content. It was glorious and basically a totally screens off week which I loved. The games room and outdoor play area were fab, the horse riding (you can only do this once), animal feeding (depending on duration twice) and tractor rides (we could only do this once due to our stay) were amazing and huge shout out to Brian (I think that’s right) who was just fab with the boys. |Location – so this one’s on me but I had not remembered how long Cornwall is. There were a few beaches around us but not all of which were easily accessible for little/aged bodies, and not all of which allowed dogs off leash. Attractions were a minimum 30-minute drive, usually an hour plus – that said I STRONGLY recommend a trip to Goliath Falls as it’s a stunning walk (dodge the food shack at the end – despite reviews it was awful) and the Lost Gardens of Heligan which I would happily visit every week if I were local! Something to be mindful of.|Restaurants – so we ate in. It was cheaper and easier with the boys, but the kitchen was fab, we bbq’ed a few times and it worked really well for us.| |All in all a really wonderful trip and I would recommend

We had a lovely stay at the Polean Farm. Our 10 years old was happy to feed the animals and be surrounded by nature. Lovely walks, fresh eggs from the chickens that are on the farm and a cute cottage (accommodation). |I would recommend it to anyone with or without children.

We visited our friends for the day who were staying in one of the cottages at Polean farm for the week. The cottage was clean and very homely when we popped in and our friends were very settled there. We spent the morning doing all sorts of lovely things.

We fed and held the Guinea pigs, fed the goats, went into the chicken pen and fed the chickens and to top it off we had a very fun tractor ride around the farm which the kids absolutely loved.

We then let the children play in the outside play area, followed by great fun in the well sourced games room.

This was in winter and out of season and still a great time was had and I was told there is even more on offer in the summer months!
Would highly recommend!
