I came across this charitable organisation by chance a few years ago at a Christmas time.
I had purchased lots of toys and learning items for a Southampton radio station appeal. I had to take it to a hotel near Sandbanks Poole and all donations were being picked for distribution to various children's charities. I didn't know the exact deadline for the pick up, and when I got to the hotel the pick up had gone that morning to Southampton.
So I'm basically stuck with all these Xmas gifts for kids.
So I search for local charities and came across a deserving mixed, as in children and adults charity, Diverse Abilities.
This was when they were at Tower Park Poole.
So I visited and was invited in..met staff and saw the children and adults.
They welcomed me and all the Xmas gifts and I donated some coins that you put by..came to quite a few £ pounds.
I was very pleased to see the tremendous work these people do for these less fortunate..in physical and mental capacities.
But they were very happy and obviously were exceedingly looked after.
I followed up with Xmas donations after but loss touch as I moved abroad.
They do tremendous charitable work in all sorts of forms. Dinner dances, fetes and show stalls and many more to raise funds, and of course, very importantly too, donations from the public in money donations, legacy and benefacts.
Your be welcome to be shown round as I was, and I'm sure volunteers would be welcome..even just on their fetes and show stalls.
This charity is definitely, as all charities, enlightening and rewarding when you actually see the tremendous work that goes in to help and assist these lovely less able children and adults.

A fantastic job of supporting children and adults, as well as a great range of fundraising events. I did the Bournemouth half in aid of the charity last year and it’s great to see where the money goes.

Today came across a stag beetle not seen one for a few years must be the year they come out of hibernation. Love upton park brillint for all ages .and my dog loves it there .
