I've found the Harold Wood site to be a solid provider of foundational learning as it relates to the level 1--basic but not easy!--trade courses on offer (availability varies as does coffee).

As far as I can tell, you've got three options here:

1. Fast-track to a green CSCS Labourer card by means of a shorter 2-week course (Plumbing, Electrical).

2. Same outcome, but via a longer 4-week course that acquaints you better with the assortment of what the coffee machine haphazardly provides (such as with Carpentry or Tiling)

3. Commit to a 3 month tour of the school of geez' (full coffee knowledge), which requires you to do 2 four week courses and multi-trade. This nets you a 'Skilled Operative' (officially-not-a-mule) blue card.

In any case, you're probably unemployed, and this investment provides structure and sufficient bants, + you'll legitimately learn something with support from experienced tutors that /want/ you to get it.

Yeah nah, Parking is ample enough atop the Cancer Research building. The chippy by the station is cash only. Bring your own coffee as the machine is a stroppy melt.

There are as many positive as there are negative aspects to this training centre. The staff range from good to bad, as do the facilities. The level 1 Cskills qualifications achieved here are sadly laughable to employers.

Brilliant provider, the staff are extremely helpful and welcoming, my apprenticeship has gone smoothly with no problems I see my assessor regularly and can contact her anytime if i need any extra help. The staff are great and very supportive.
