Recently whenever I try to use the library at Dagenham Heathway there isnt a member of staff to be seen
Ive been told its due to staff shortages. A self service machine like they use to have would help as I wouldnt need a person. Or only open the library certain days but at least make sure it is staffed to help and advise , and of course lend out books. I could easily have walked out with any book without it being regiatered to me. Havering libraries so much better

Dagenham Library is a quiet and conducive place to read and research. It has resourceful materials and staff to keep you going. It equally got space for kids. It is strategically located in Dagenham Heathway just few metres away from Heathway Underground Station and many bus stops around just to ease your movement. It equally has job centre and other welfare office. Free Wi-Fi to keep you going...

Depending on the day of the week you go on... And who happens to be on duty, to the type of service you get! Like most places these days.
Today I needed a bit of help getting on to Lbbd my account, as I wasn't having much luck on my pc. I got the help needed by an helpful I.T. Champion, whose name I forgot to ask, thank you appreciated.
The Children's Library is excellent!
With a New created outside space for activities currently being refurbished.

What is the point of saying you close at 7 when you don’t let anyone in at 6:50-6:55? There has been three occasions I have come before 7 to simply pick up bin bags needed for recycling, and yet every time I have gone, there is always a man or two sitting there telling me they’re shut.. but it’s not 7pm yet? I understand if I wanted to read a book or print something off but when you’re not even supposed to be shut yet, the decent thing to do would be to approach me and ask what I would like to do/need. It takes 30 seconds for that exchange, and I mouthed the words several times yet they just replied my mouthing closed. Change your times or get your staff to actually work until closing time as it’s unfair if i need to catch public transport or cannot get to the library due to my work hours.

Really enjoy coming here I can work quietly at the quiet study area or I can use the computers which are always working well and have very fast speeds. Only issue is that it says 9am opening time but sometimes they will wait till 9.05 or even after that to open the doors.

Good selection of books for the older child however baby books are few and few between. I also feel there should be a wider selection of phonic books for 2y plus! Lovely spage to enjoy a book with your child though. I haven't often used the adult section so cant really comment.

Very good library. Friendly and very helpful staff. There is the children's section downstairs. Enough space for them to be comfortable. Upstairs is more books for adults. There is enough space for quiet work. There is also a computer section and help for those looking for a job. A lot going on at this library. Very useful for the community.
