I’m really disappointed with the customer service I received from this theatre. I had booked tickets to attend a show with a friend, but due to an honest mistake, my friend purchased an accessible ticket, which the theatre cancelled. While they refunded her ticket, they refused to offer me the same flexibility, leaving me in a situation where I would have to attend the show alone.

I understand that tickets are generally non-refundable, but this situation was completely out of my control. My friend’s ticket was cancelled by the theatre, not by her, which has directly impacted my ability to enjoy the show. Despite several polite requests, the theatre has been unwilling to offer me a refund, even though they made an exception for my friend.

They did offer to look for another ticket for my friend or swap my ticket to a different night, but this doesn’t resolve the fact that I was left with no one to attend the show with. It’s really disappointing that the theatre was so rigid and inflexible, especially when I’ve attended their shows before and had positive experiences. However, after this frustrating and disheartening experience, I wouldn’t consider attending again.

I would advise caution when booking tickets with this theatre, as their customer service lacks flexibility and consideration for unique and unexpected situations like mine.

Tonight 4 of my family went to see an absolutely brilliant performance of Pride and Prejudice by this wonderful Company. The timing was perfect and the change of characters and costumes was amazing. How do they do it!!! Not only that the 3 actors were dancing as well. If you haven’t been to see it try and grab a ticket if you can, you won’t be disappointed.

I visited Holy Trinity Church in Guildford last night to watch Guildford Shakespeare Company’s opening performance of Macbeth... and what a show it is!!! One of the best versions of Macbeth I’ve seen! The commandment of language by the whole cast, use of the space, direction by the amazing Charlotte Conquest, lighting and sound were all astonishing! It was a fantastic evening and I urge anyone who may read this to see it and if not this time around, go and see one of their future shows! Sensational theatre!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

This Macbeth production was a revelation. I studied it at A level so thought it might be over familiar, but the performance was incredibly fresh, imaginative and astounding in places. My 17 year old son says it is the best performance he has ever watched. To present the witches as possessed zombies was inspired and the feast scene where Banquo's ghost appears was utterly riveting.

We will be back for the next play put on by GSCT!

Our first experience with GSC and what a production. Macbeth was amazing. The church setting was stunning and complemented the production throughout. All of the cast gave outstanding performances and we were gripped throughout.

Macbeth - I have a confession. I love what GSC do - a wonderful creatively philanthropic company who care about what they do and the community in which they thrive.
I have also seen many of their productions - inside and out - and always enjoy what I am privileged to witness.
But, Macbeth.....the play has been a fascination for me since A Level.....being consumed in its darkness, its horrific inevitability and its ultimate, costly victory for good.
This latest production from GSC is quite the most wonderful spectacle I have seen. A chillingly relentless rendition in the superb setting of Guildford’s Holy Trinity church, with a cast you cannot take your eyes off. Jack Whitam’s portrayal of Macbeth is extraordinary- aside from The words, delivered so well, he physically changes during the play consumed by his acts. Stella Taylor’s Lady M has a vulnerability about it I had not witnessed before.....Nathan Ives-Moiba (Macduff) and Sarah Gobran (Banquo) also shine. But then the whole cast - many sharing roles - give meaning and pace to everything you see.
An extraordinary piece of work, in the extraordinary times - you need to see this.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Superb company. I've seen their shows many times over the years and every one a cracker! As a teacher I've also taken students to performances (GCSE and A Level Drama) for their live theatre reviews. GSC have also visited my schools to carry out workshops and were professional and exceptionally knowledgeable throughout. Recommended!
