I was on the L3 FESSA course on one day a week release for a total of 3 years. In that time I had a total of 2 taught lessons and the rest i had to teach myself everything. The tutors do not have the knowledge or the will to teach anything and instead talk about football. I sat my end point assessment and got 85% which would’ve been distinction, if I had have known how to do one particular thing that college should’ve taught us I would’ve passed. Instead I messed that part up and therefore failed my EPA. I rung college to tell them of this on the day after the exam, and the tutor said “I haven’t heard of this equation” and actually gave me one that was completely useless and irrelevant. For years I’d been writing in my learner reviews that access training was wasting people’s time to which they changed what I wrote AFTER I signed it. Since putting the complaint in all I have received is stupid jibberish excuses and telling me they have it in hand now but are still leaving me with over a £600 resit fee. I will also add that the department manager agreed with me and said “ I don’t know what the tutor has been doing all this time and think he is useless” but as I can see the tutor has kept his role and access training are sweeping this under the carpet. And saying they are looking at things going forward, which doesn’t help me and the many many others that have failed due to access training conning the companies that sent us here.
