This is a course that regularly gets plaudits from top 100 golf course lists, and it's easy to see why. The setting is scenic, it has all the practise facilities you could ask for, and the course itself is the star of the show. The greens had recently been treated, but didn't look too far away from being excellent again. The tees were good, and the fairways were just about holding up to the pressures of the summer heatwave we've been going through.

There are lots of nicely shaped holes, and a good mix of short and long par 4's. It's also pretty friendly from the tee, so can be played by all levels of handicap.

Add in the excellent clubhouse and friendly members (the ones I spoke to were anyway), and you've ticked all of the boxes. Highly recommended.

Have used Alresford GC for many years with my society. The club house has recently been refurbished and is now an excellent venue and the food options are very reasonable and the staff are very attentive. The golf course we played in April 2023 was in excellent condition and the greens were unbelievable for this time of the year. If not played it’s highly recommended.

Just played a society day at Alresford, never played the course before and found it in perfect condition from tees to greens. Varied holes/layouts and some good tests and I found the course really interesting.
I can imagine that during the summer with the trees with full foliage it could be really pretty and in some cases a bit tight and daunting but today it gave us mere mortals the opportunity to stray a bit off the straight and narrow and still then play a recovery shot which made it enjoyable.
Clubhouse staff were really friendly and all food served was of good quality ....... It's a course I hope to play again and would recommend

Challenging but not stressing course. Long holes in general. Beautifully maintained tees,,fairways,greens. Fairways, small rough,a bit higher rough, all is there. Being a woodland course even if you go under the trees you will find your ball,but if you are too far off, high rough will loose your ball. Rolling fairways, some blind holes ,but stairways and bells make it safe.lots of attention on safety.
Greens all have some slope but they are true.
Very friendly welcome at the pro shop,even for a french visitor like me.
I played in the high of July during the heat wave, so the course was really bouncy ,it made you gain a few yards!
Very scenic and well kept course.
