Old review, which I originally gave 5 stars to AI for:
First time here over a year ago. Easy to find with Google maps, I don't know where other reviewer had a problem finding it...address clearly says location, location is signposted and AI has a sign by the buzzers at the door directing where to go. Room was inviting and so were the people. For someone with Asperger and a severe personality disorder (everyone annoys me to some extent...I mask it well, I think, but it's there for me) it is surprising that I am still going at least once a week.

Have never contacted them by phone, they have a FB group with messenger and I always get a reply fairly quickly if I message, whereas if you call it has to be when a group is on and someone is there.

And for anyone who knows the name Autism Inclusive from the past, please bear in mind this is a review for the group that is run by a new bunch of people...this is NOT the AI from a few years ago...I didn't experience that group, thankfully.

Edit Post-covid: I spent a lot of time not going to meetings (as they weren't running) and eventually left their group when one of the new staff members belittled a personal opinion regarding Asperger...decided against returning to any meetings where that staff member may be. Understandable if you know Asperger, but few or none of the staff I knew back then are still there and I NOW feel it is once more the toxic environment it once was where we aren't being given the voice that I personally went there for.

That staff member I mention above seems to have effectively pushed everyone out, for what reason I have no idea but it can't be good...I sensed she was trouble and got out early. If I didn't have that feeling about her I probably would have stayed in the group back when I had the option.

There isn't much out there for autistic children and adults and a place for parents to chat and share experience but Autism Inclusive is a place that does it all a one stop shop. All run by amazing volunteers who work hard for no monetary gain. I use Ai as often as I can get there with having a busy life is not always easy but knowing they are there and always ready with support and interests, youth clubs, information, coffee mornings, gaming nights, craft sessions ect it's a weight off my mind. I have an autistic 10 he old boy and my husband 39 is autistic and they both use autism inclusive. I don't have autism and I find the support I need to help me help my family. Fantastic service and amazing VOLUNTEERS Thankyou Autism Inclusive you are an amazing service run by amazing people.

What a fantastic charity, going the extra mile to support people with learning difficulties. From gaming consoles to sensory rooms, cafe and a charity shop and sound outdoor playing area.
