It is an amazing pub, boasting great food, an excellent selection of beers, a wonderful beer garden, and a lovely ambience throughout. It is truly worth taking the time to visit, as it offers everything in a delightful village setting.

Table booked for 4.00pm, we weren't seated until nearly 3/4 hour later. We were told that if they took the order whilst we were waiting , the food would come out as soon as we were seated. This didn't happen, it was more like another 3/4 hour. Food was good apart from the Yorkshire pudding which was doughy and cold in the centre. Dessert was lovely. I would want the service to improve before even thinking of returning.

Lovely village pub really pleasant big garden great for kids.went for evening dinner and drinks. Great selection of beers , a decent menu with pub favourites we all cleaned are plates , really good food. Great friendly staff. All good.

Another gem of a place to eat.

A lovely quiet pub with a good menu range.
The food was all home made and tasted delicious. Service was good and a great atmosphere.

We went a table of 6. Ordered food it took ages. There was lots of empty glasses on the table assuming for wine. But we had soft drinks so the empties where not needed. Food eventually came out, but barely any space to put it down. After eating, the table was full so we piled all the empty glasses plus plates and asked for them to be removed to make space for pudding. The plates and only half the glasses got removed.. the food was OK, the kids said theirs was great. There is also a 10% service charge added, to which I asked to remove as the service just wasn't there other than piling food on an already pretty full table of empty glasses.

Superb! We enjoyed yet another wonderful Sunday lunch and had to write about it as a sign of thanks and appreciation. It really was fabulous. The meat (we both had lamb) was cooked perfectly – as was the wonderful array of vegetables. Just the right mix of vegetables and each cooked, well, perfectly! The gravy topped it all off as did the service, which was speedy, professional and extremely friendly from the entire team. It’s a gem and we can’t wait to experience again. Thank you ‘team Axe’!

We had a beautiful roast dinner cooked to perfection. Staff were very busy but still had a smile on their face and they did a great job.

Stopped for a quick drink and chips. Waited 45 mins so asked the bar to cancel the food. Lady behind the bar said yep and walked off offering no refund and no apology
