An excellent hotel in the forest. Really nice ambience, relaxing getaway. The food is excellent. We had a lovely table for 2 with no problem with us just ordering starters instead of a main meal. The staff simply can't do enough for you. Large bedroom with a fantastic view, comfortable bed, and nice walk-in shower. Will stay again soon.

In July ‘24 I booked, directly with Balmer Lawn, a double room for Dec for us as a Christmas treat. I paid a £80 deposit. I have been contacted by them to say the booking can’t be upheld as they are fully booked. I struggle to believe that in July the hotel was fully booked for Dec. And if so, why has it taken four months to inform me of this? One wonders if our room has been resold at Christmas prices. A horrible thing to do to people and their Christmas plans. Balmer Lawn “pride themselves on great service”. Hmmmm. This doesn’t feel great! I was offered the chance to book alternative dates but we have little confidence in entrusting our Christmas celebrations with Balmer Lawn. We have booked a hotel down the road from them.

We stayed as a family of seven for three nights. Service was excellent and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. Our waitress Jane, at every breakfast, made our stay even better. She was attentive, efficient and friendly. She paid attention to each of us as we celebrated two birthdays. It was a pleasure to be served by her. Hold onto Jane Balmer Lawn, She is an asset that you would never want to lose. We will be back!

Attended a wedding celebration at this venue. The staff were attentive and helpful and plentiful. The food provided was adequate. We especially enjoyed the Halloween decorations which had been set up in some of the rooms. These decorations showed a lot of passion and effort and were really effective and enjoyable. Keep it up!!

We intended to visit Balmer Lawn Hotel 1 - 3 November. We found the hotel advertised on the New Forest tourism website. When I called the hotel to make a reservation, they denied any knowledge of the advertisement on the website. It was a very unpleasant experience. It was also quite ludicrous in a way - to be a customer trying to make a booking and having to spend so much time explaining their own advertising. I had printed a 'voucher' (no monetary value) on the website and called the hotel to make the booking, referring to the offer advertised on the website. Reception said they would call back but did not do so. The following day, there was still no response. After much going back and forth (quite incredible really how difficult it was to take a booking), I was finally offered a room and agreed the price and 30 seconds after agreeing the booking, I was told there were no more standard rooms. I would have given 1 star were it not for the apology call from the General Manager. We were so messed about by the hotel that we ended up not going away for the weekend, which was hugely disappointing. I've been offered a tea 'subject to availability' in the next 12 months. I'm not sure that I would take up the offer as it doesn't address the problem I had.

My family and friends enjoyed a delicious Sunday roast at the Balmerlawn's restaurant, the meat was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by seasonal, locally sourced vegetables. Whilst we eat, a live saxophone player set the tone, creating a cosy and inviting ambiance. The service was exceptional; I could not recommend more highly.

We had an excellent stay at the Balmer Lawn Hotel. It is a fantastic location and all the staff we encountered were first class especially Jane at Breakfast times who went out of her way to look after everyone's needs (A true asset) There was also one of the waiting staff who's name I did not take down (She had a butterfly tattoo on her upper arm) who seemed to be everywhere when something was required again an asset to the team at Balmer Lawn. |We were very well looked after.|The room we stayed in was great for 2 nights we stayed, however the 3rd night we had some neighbours who were quite loud this was made worse because we were in a room with connecting doors (understanding for larger families but sound proofing an issue) |The room was impeccably cleaned and refreshed every day.|The food and drink were of a very high standard at all times.||Unfortunatley for us the spa was being renovated at the time of our stay but the treatments continued in other rooms and again were just amazing

We recently had a lovely relaxing two night stay at the very comfortable and welcoming Balmer Lawn Hotel which is in a great location in the New Forest. The reception team, waiters and waitresses, bar staff and in particular Tom the manager, were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Food was amazing and service in the restaurant was very good too.
