Haven taken in a rescue dog (Luna) I was keen to get some training sorted.

I am so pleased I chose Best Behaviour. It has been a total game changer.

The classes were easy to follow and I was able to practice during the week before the following week's class.

Luna had an amazing time and we both really enjoyed the lessons. We have just finished the first 8 weeks and I am now booking a further 16 because there's so much more we want to learn together.

If you’re looking for a training school with continuity and quality then look no further.
I’ve found the classes to be informative and useful, the instructors are both patient with me as an owner and really positive towards the dog. If your struggling they support you to go at a pace you’re comfortable with bring it back to basics. Each week on the group there’s a small synopsis of what was covered in the class so it’s helpful to refer back to when practicing if your forgetful . The instructors use a PA type system so can always be heard which is great when you’re out in the elements, you will be so my advice dress appropriately. Whilst it’s difficult doing training in the cold it’s great practice especially as I still walk my dog in the cold.
They always have times for questions at the end of the class and are approachable if you wanna talk briefly on your own. I signed up for puppy classes and ultimate lead. Think the instructors name was Jen and she’s super knowledgeable and positive . Would highly recommended thank you.

Found this trainer Zoe to be completely unprofessional. I would not recommend her to anyone. When I arrived, no introduction, she didn't even ask mine or my dogs name. Did not give an overview of the lesson. So I had no idea what to expect. She basically just gets you to use treats to keep your dogs attention. When I questioned her she was very defensive and if you want a fat dog who will only respond to treats and a trainer who only listens to her own voice Zoe is the one for you. Wish someone had warned me about her before. So take this as your warning and find another trainer. Apparently she has a reputation!!
I have now found a wonderful trainer who is professional and great with the dogs.

We contacted Zoe when we were having problems with our reactive dog , especially concerning him barking at things outside. Zoe gave us some really good practical advice using kind methods to help our dog. She was friendly , approachable and very helpful.

Really disappointed with these sessions.

The puppy classes are next to a busy main road and even with a microphone the instructor is hard to hear. Very distracting for dogs.

The grass is waterlogged when rainy and our puppy struggled to last the session due to the wet long grass.

There isn’t any structure to the sessions, just a series of training exercises each week with no real thought put into the order. Classes are not ordered in any way, so you are with people who are at different levels.

You don’t get much 1 to 1, the only reason to do an in person session is to have someone look at your dog and help and this didn’t really happen.

It’s expensive compared to others in the area, we booked this because nowhere else was available and we still regret going.

After 2 sessions we tried to cancel but the website is plastered in no refund signs which makes sense as I assume many others have tried. We didn’t get a response after several emails of trying to ask for a refund.

In lockdown the sessions were replaced by videos with no refunds again being stressed. The videos were the same as you’d find for free anywhere online and we preferred other free videos to these so didn’t use them even though we technically paid £80 for them. There was an option to do a Zoom call but this was extortionately expensive and should have been included in the replacement of the in person sessions.

I don’t like writing bad reviews but this service was not good enough, there’s a couple of other alternatives in the area which are much better and worth waiting for if they have a waiting list.

I think some good reviews are for the adult dog training, the puppy classes we attended were very poor.

Our plan now is to follow a program at home and spend the money on less frequent 1 to 1 sessions with another trainer. There’s a lot of genuinely good free training available online and if you’re paying a trainer, it’s only useful if they are focusing on you and your specific dog and needs which a lot of trainers will do over video for quite reasonable prices.

Really different way of training dogs to what I used in the past, all the techniques are reward based and much to my surprise it really works and much better than how I would have previously trained my dogs. So pleased we chose to train here. We are definitely signing up for some more as the classes are interesting and varied.
