I don't know where to begin. Two year pharmacy technician apprenticeship I have had 4 differed tutors. I was not supported, guided, trained or helped by any of them it was like they were all reading from a script and asking questions seemed to scare and confuse them. I had to wait months for any work to be marked and signed off delaying my completion date by an extra 6 months. The pharmacy technician apprenticeship also had the accuracy checking technician course added to the end. My work for that was submitted july this year (2024) but after a phone call chasing my sign off every week and that was not done until end of October. I was told that my tutor had left (another one thats 5 now) I was also told that they had lost my work and would have to resubmit (it was eventually found)
After many phone calls and emails chasing the end of the 3 years of inadequate and incompetent work force of buttercups. I almost lost the job role my company had created for me due to the time delay caused by buttercups.
I asked for an email to raise a complaint and was provided with an email to the HR department. I sent an email outlining everything over the last few years to get a email back telling me the email address no longer exists. Another phone call was made and I still have had no one from buttercups contact me regarding any matter of to raise a complaint like I was told would happen. Frankly not surprised.
I was finally at the end and was waiting for my final certificates to come through the post after weeks of waiting I chased again and had an email telling me the last task had just been signed off after submitting around a month before.(About the 100th time my work has been ignored ,over the years)
I would strongly suggest if anyone wanted to train in pharmacy use another training provider the experience has been awfull, unhelpful and you will spend more time chasing them to actually do their jobs then you will training the course material. Which by the way is massively flawed, spelling mistakes wrong information and when prompted to type and answer you are told your wrong and the correct answer is what you have just typed.

Felt supported throughout and that the Assessors were very experienced. I would definitely recommend Buttercups NVQ 3 Pharmacy Technician course if you are looking to progress from a Dispenser role. It is 2 years of solid commitment. I would say, keep in touch with your tutor and express concerns as soon as possible so that you stay ‘on track’.

I have been dealing with buttercups training for 3 years. The training courses are well structured for any trainee to follow. All if my trainees have passed their courses without any complications. The support from the company is amazing and professional. If you are an employer looking for a pharmacy training provider for you workforce, buttercups is your best choice

I started my course about a month ago for a level 3 pharmacy production course, they said my level 2 qualification that I’ve held for nearly 8 years no longer qualifies, so they’ve forced me to do it all over again.

However their coursework is aimed at community pharmacy and nothing to do with hospital pharmacy, they will not give you any work around except make you do it despite not having any information at hand that can answer it.

If you’re doing any sort of pharmacy training, don’t do it through these people.
