Charnwood’s website content doesn’t adequately outline how the virtual course works, so nothing makes sense and I had to query several steps. Amongst other things, there was no registration form, despite being asked for it later on.

Despite being given the phone number for Charnwood, they didn’t once answer the phone or have a message service. Almost all of Charnwood’s email replies were beyond reasonably late or ignored the specific questions in my emails and argued with me when I pointed out factual errors / omissions in their course material.

Charnwood said that they would mark my scanned-in workbook and return it with corrections, which they later refused to do or discuss. They sent me a link to the mock exam, but still no marked-up copy of my completed handbook, despite reminders. After completion of the mock exam, they offered dates for the final exam, so I again asked for the marked up workbook and / or mock exam so I could tell if I’d misunderstood something important. Still with no answer, Charnwood sent me the various links for the exam, which I sat & passed.

As someone who used to run 2day supplier training with up to 20 attendees in a Global company for over 7years with a high level of organisation & success (only as part of my job) this has been one of the worst run, unprofessional course experiences of my life.

The BIIAB qualification letter says, “...we believe that undertaking a qualification should be both an enjoyable and rewarding experience.” In that case, they need to find themselves better trainers. [NB: Charnwood was not the only training body offering the course I did, so I can’t speak to the capability of any other than Charnwood.]

For wither party interested in improving their business, I have a date-by-date record of this fiasco that I’m willing to share.

Despite completing the APLH last August 2022, I'm yet to receive a copy of the certificate. Various emails and calls in the past weeks and months has been completely ignored. Saying that, they were very fast and prompt on taking the payment for the course.
