Helen is extremely professional and dedicated teacher. Her lessons are really well structured and interesting and she is tailoring each lessons and homework to suit my kids’ needs. She attended our house regularly before transitioning to on-line lessons which provided my kids with a stable and continuous support to learn effectively. My son has been tutored by Helen for the last 2 years and has exceeded his expected GCSE grades for English Language and literature.

Helen’s natural ability to nurture, her patience and ability to bring out the confidence in my son so that he achieved work to his best abilities and strengths was inspiring, English really clicked with him in the last few months and was mentioned by his English teacher!!

Helen really takes time to understand your child and work with you for long term success. Her knowledge of the curriculum and expectations at exam level meant my son was much more prepared in areas that were weak or had not been studied in depth at school.

My son and I will sadly miss his lessons and catch ups and I know that her help has extended beyond just English and hopefully will help him in the future.

Helen is an amazing tutor, she was able to extend our son's writing and comprehension skills successfully in Year 6, preparing him fully for the entrance exam to a private school.

Helen has been wonderful from start to finish with our sons English tuition. It wasn’t an easy challenge for her as he like many 15 yr old boys had zero interest at the beginning. After time he became more confident and interested in his learning. He actually said he enjoyed taking his exam- this was because he had all the knowledge he needed. My son has had English tutoring with Helen from year 9 to the end of year 11 GCSE’s.
His mind set towards English, from really hating it to working with it, has really changed.
Within this time Helen supported us with his recent diagnosis of dyslexia, and has been able to teach him throughout his GCSE’s in a style that has really benefitted him. Helen supported my son with both Language and Literature, and he has successfully passed both, Language (6) and Literature (4) which without Helen would not have happened. I would highly recommend getting in touch with Helen if you are considering using a tutor.

Helen helped me so much with my English language and literature GCSEs (which I got a grade 9 and 8 in). She always set homework that was really beneficial, and I found going through my English work with her so useful because she helped me to see exactly what I needed to improve every time. This meant that I could understand where and why I lost any marks in exam questions. Through her lessons, it was easier for me to know how to revise and I was more motivated also. By having Helen as a tutor, it meant that I was always ahead of the class, and she also helped me to perfect my grammar skills (something which I think is not taught enough in schools). She is a lovely, patient and talented tutor, who I would really recommend for English tutoring.

She is organised and knows how to get the best from her students, Seamus my son actually loved visiting Helens as she teaches in a friendly way and believed in him.
