I grew up attending scouts in the country park and visited more recently. It warms my heart to see the development of this piece of land to realize its full potential with the use of the station buildings for a Cafe and educational displays, some restoration work to the castle ruins and clearing of the mound to better display the ruins. There is a well maintained playground and miles of paths through the woods. There was organized pond dipping when we were there as well!

My first visit... Didn't quite make it up the stairs but that's for next time.

A nice venue for a parkrun with plenty of parking and a decent cafe.
Access to toilet facilities was limited to one disabled loo which is a bit meagre.

Just so beautiful. A dog walker's paradise. Multiple routes around the castle and along to the cafe that is set in the old station. I take my dogs around there every day an can choose from several scenic walks.

I grew up down the road from here and probably haven’t visited for at least 20 years, but I wanted to get some drone footage. Clare is a beautiful town (village?) and the cafe in the park was amazing too… the big wooden door that you can’t see over is still at the foot of the castle mound..
