Probably one of the worst test centers I've attended in 10 years.
Let's start at the beginning.

Sent on a lift supervisors course and we were informed that they will also be training a slinger as well as the crane supervisors course.

So two courses running side by side with one instructor, the instructor wasn't impressed either (he was freelance) so what little training we had was made even less by the instructor splitting his time between two courses.

My joining instructions told me to be there for 7.45. Without going into all the details we eventually started just after 10am.
We spent the rest of the morning going through the questions and method statement for the lift and also instructing the slinger.
The first day we finished at 12.30 so a CPCS course on the first day of 2hrs training.....

Day 2...
Although we were due to start at 8am went out to site just after 8.30
The weather was horrendous non stopped rained.
Went out and did the necessary practical training, we were drenched, soaked to the skin. Finished at around 1.20pm.
Bearing in mind this is a CPCS ticket the training was less than 7hrs.
Got back to the classroom soaked to find out they had no drying rooms on site. One of the delegates needed to drive home that day and had to drive for 3 hours soaked through.
I asked the manager if he could leave the heating on in the welfare to dry out PPE which he kindly agreeded to.

Day 3 test day....
I was told my test was at 8am & to be there 30 mins before.
I turned up at the security gate at 7.15am to find I couldn't get in. I tried calling the test centre for 20 mins no answer. I found one of the companies that share the site phone number online and they eventually let me in at 7.35. I got to the center and found the office lady cleaning, I told her I'd been trying to get in and called, she just replied, oh I didn't turn the pc's on. There was enough stress without not getting in.
I went to get my PPE to find the heating had been turned off and all our PPE was wet through, luckily I had brought a spare set.

The facilities were very poor also. The fridge was filthy, the welfare provided out on site hadnt been cleaned for weeks and had PPE hanging up over a heater drying just ready to either electricute you or set the place on fire.drying

One of the delegates told us on the first day that her site manager had been on the same course a few weeks earlier and ended up complaining to CPCS about the center and training....

Knowledgeable Instructors and Great Course Structure
The course I attended was well-structured and delivered by very knowledgeable instructors who clearly have a lot of experience in the field. They were approachable and patient, making sure each trainee had the opportunity to ask questions and practice on the machinery. I feel much more confident now in my abilities.
